The Business Architect role sits in the B2B Sales & Marketing Business Alignment domain within the Tech & Data department, reporting into the Head of Sales & Marketing Technology.

Key responsibilities:

  • As Business Architect, you will bridge the gap between technology and the business – demystifying data by working with teams to translate functional requirements into clear, technical solutions in a way that is understandable for both technical and non-technical users.
  • You will represent Tech & Data by being a trusted advisor to business stakeholders from Marketing, Wholesale & Travel, B2B Partnerships and Master Franchise. Partnering with them to understand their end-to-end processes and challenges whilst driving process improvement by creating scalable, reliable and future-proof functional designs. These core business processes are – Campaign Management, Content Management, B2B Sales, B2B CRM, and B2B Account & Location Management.
  • You will collaborate with Business stakeholders, Project and Product Managers, Business Analysts and other domain architects to select, implement, deliver and maintain robust, sustainable, software solutions that support our future vision. Rituals architects regularly connect to analyse impact on systems and processes; manage dependencies whilst ensuring design coherence.
  • Your expertise will be used as input to some of the biggest strategic programs within Rituals that relate to the B2B Sales & Marketing domain. These include implementation of a new B2B Customer data model; B2B CRM Tooling; Translations Tooling, and Content Management tooling.
  • Where relevant, you will participate in tool selection processes for new potential software vendors for projects that impact the B2B Sales & Marketing domain.

  • At least 8 years of work experience as a business technology consultant, solution architect or similar field
  • Impeccable communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in working within a business environment that has a strong IT or technology component
  • Proven, relevant experience of working with stakeholders and teams to manage successful implementation of new software to drive business transformation (ideally solutions that involve B2B Sales and/or Marketing processes)
  • Deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Proven ability to apply strategic and tactical DDD patterns to align complex software architecture with core business capabilities.
  • Architectural Leadership: Extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale Event-Driven Architectures (EDA) using messaging queues, event streaming platforms, and asynchronous communication models.
  • Data Modeling: Advanced proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling (ERD) to design scalable and performant data structures that support enterprise-wide needs.
  • Strategic Planning: Strong background in business capability modeling and process optimization, using frameworks like Lean/Six Sigma to bridge business strategy with technical execution and drive operational efficiency.
  • Enterprise Architecture: Foundational knowledge of TOGAF principles with practical application in developing and governing enterprise-level architectural roadmaps.
  • Preferred: Basic SQL proficiency for data analysis, querying, and schema design.
  • Preferred: Expertise in API testing and data interpretation, including using tools like Postman to work with and validate APIs, and the ability to read and understand data formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Preferred: Modeling Languages (Nice to have): Practical experience with ArchiMate or similar modeling languages for creating comprehensive, multi-layered enterprise architecture diagrams.
  • Thrive in an open, fast-paced environment, embrace change, and excel in a dynamic and flexible setting
  • You are determined and persistent, you will keep trying until you have reached your goals, while taking your stakeholders along
  • Experience in the retail industry is a plus
  • Enthusiasm and passion, you know how to inspire people to achieve their goals

Location and Working Conditions

While flexible working is available, this role requires a strong on-site presence to engage with stakeholders and build connections effectively. This role is based in Amsterdam at our Central Head Office. You’ll primarily work onsite, with occasional travel to local head offices across Europe.
