The Production Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining and optimizing the production planning process. This role ensures that production runs are well-prepared, aligned and coordinated. The planner acts as a central figure aligning information between the Manufacturing Engineers, Warehouse, Procurement and the Production Supervisor.

You will be working in a specialized (micro)electronics manufacturing environment, focused on the assembly and production of complex PCBAs and micro-assemblies. The products are high-mix, low-volume, and require precise coordination due to their high (technical) complexity. As Production Planner, you play a key role in ensuring that all planning and preparation steps are tailored to the unique requirements.

Your role:

Production Planning & Coordination

  • Maintain an overview of all upcoming and planned production runs, including start dates, required finish dates, and throughput times.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure readiness for production (documents, components, capacity, etc.).
  • Align with Procurement on material availability and potential supply issues.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse for timely picking of components.
  • Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to align schedules and resolve planning-related issues.

System & Process Development

  • Develop and maintain a simple, scalable system for production planning.
  • Ensure planning processes are easy to understand and transferable for backup scenarios.

Strategic & Analytical Planning

  • Analyse long-term planning needs, capacity requirements, and potential bottlenecks.
  • Set up, monitor, and report on KPIs such as on-time delivery and schedule adherence.
  • Evaluate quoted vs. actual production and throughput times.

Work Preparation

  • Responsible for work preparation of released production. This includes alignment with stakeholders, assuring timely procurement, capacity available and arranging all required production documentation.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Keep Manufacturing Engineers and other stakeholders informed of any changes or risks to production timelines.
  • Act as the central point of contact for planning-related communication across departments.

Points of attention

  • Strong emphasis on communication and stakeholder alignment.
  • Clear distinction and collaboration between planning and scheduling roles.
  • Planning processes must be simple, transparent, and easy to take over.
  • The planner must be proactive in identifying and resolving planning conflicts.

You're the right fit if you have:

  • Education in Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain coordination or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and planning tools.
  • A Dutch passport.
  • Dutch speaking skills of minimal B1/B2 level.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the Electronics or High-tech industry.
  • Experience in a low-volume, high-mix/complexity production environment.
  • Experience in setting up a production planning process.

Preferred Skills:

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Cross-functional communication and stakeholder management.
  • Process improvement and system development.
  • KPI setup and performance tracking.
  • Work preparation.

For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an onsite role.
