From a growing base in the Netherlands, Triple Solar is scaling across Germany, Switzerland and Austria in the next two years and has an ambition to boost its impact by expanding to the rest of Europe within five.

We’re looking for a Finance Director who pairs strategic finance (new propositions, SPVs/lease, long term business plans and funding) with hands-on scale-up execution (process, systems, reporting) while building a growth culture. You’ll create a rock-solid financial backbone while keeping the flexibility and creativity a fast-growing climate-tech needs—ambitious, down to earth and cash-savvy, decisive under uncertainty, but very communicative and focussed on the team. This role is designed to progress to CFO as we scale.

What you’ll achieve (first 12–18 months)

• Strategic finance engine: Translate growth strategy into clear financial roadmaps, unit economics, and capital plans for Netherlands and Germany
• New propositions, modeled & funded: Structure and finance the operational lease SPV(s); stand up project finance and working-capital facilities
• Scalable finance operations: Upgrade controlling, reporting, cash management, and FP&A; embed robust monthly/quarterly rhythms and KPIs
• Systems & data we can trust: Simplify processes with the COO, tighten master data, and raise reporting quality for management and investors
• Culture & team: Build a high-performing team; be a clear, open communicator and culture carrier

Responsibilities

Strategic Finance

• Own financial strategy for market expansion: market models, scenario planning, pricing, and business cases. Develop investment memoranda
• Support CEO in fundraising (equity, project finance, working capital); optimize the mix of equity, debt, and subsidies
• Structure SPVs for operational lease proposition; oversee covenant management and lender relations

Financial Operations & FP&A

• Run controlling, reporting, cash forecasting, working capital, and audit/compliance
• Build forward-looking FP&A (rolling forecasts, driver-based plans, margin bridges, unit economics)
• Standardize close/reporting cadence and board/investor materials that are decision-ready

Process, Systems & Scale

• With the COO, streamline end-to-end processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory/costing) to support scale
• Improve data integrity and BI dashboards; make KPIs transparent across Product development, Ops, Delivery, and Commercial
• Prepare finance for multi-country operations (tax, transfer pricing basics, intercompany flows)

Stakeholders & Leadership

• Be the day-to-day finance face to investors, lenders, subsidy bodies, and auditors
• Join the management team; challenge, support, and align around priorities and resource allocation
• Develop and mentor the finance team; hire ahead of the curve

Reports to the CEO; close collaboration with COO and CCO; regular exposure to investors and board.

Experience & competences:

• 8+ years in senior finance (Finance Director, Head of Finance, Senior Business Controller or CFO) or VC/PE, ideally in context of product/manufacturing and/or VC/PE-backed scale-ups, international experience is a plus
• Fundraising exposure (equity and debt) and comfort with project finance / SPVs
• Built/led finance teams and scaled processes/systems from “good enough” to “best-in-class for a scale-up”
• Exceptional analytical rigor and communication; you turn complexity into clear overview and decisions
• Affinity with sustainability/energy transition; heat-pump sector a plus
• Languages: Business Dutch & English required; German is a strong plus
