Introduction to the job

The IT organization of ASML supports information management, infrastructure and key business processes across ASML. Part of the IT organization is the Core IT department. Core IT’s mission is delivering high performing, reliable and secure application-, workplace- and infrastructure services that are available anytime, anywhere and anyplace.

The Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) has already deployed both a global Azure & GCP platforms as part of a hybrid, multi-cloud strategy. Additionally, future-proof governance is established around FinOps in a combination of centralized and decentralized responsibilities for Cloud and on-premise environment. We have a mature cloud FinOps practice, and we are now looking for an On-prem specialist in our FinOps team.

Role and responsibilities

As On-premises FinOps Specialist, you are the ambassador of and responsible for the success of cost management and cost allocation for on-prem infrastructure. You are the linking pin between on-prem IT teams, finance, and ASML internal customers. You provide specialist consultancy on cost calculations and cost allocations, working together with cloud, project, and on-prem teams, and providing guidance and training to stakeholders. In this role you will:

  • Create comprehensive reporting and metrics to report on costs of on-premises infrastructure.
  • Support cloud migration business cases with cost calculations for on-prem workloads.
  • Create comprehensive reporting and metrics to report on cost allocation for ASML internal business / sub-sectors.
  • Identify, analyze, and report opportunities and risks in the scope of on-premises infrastructure cost within the portfolio.
  • Implement and maintain a KPI-based sustainable cost management and optimization lifecycle that ensures efficient usage of on-premises infrastructure.
  • Assure the availability and accuracy of data (to be) used in reports / dashboards.
  • Work with teams and individuals to get data delivered for cost management and allocation purposes.
  • Develop reporting materials that help teams to understand and optimize their infrastructure utilization.
  • Chair periodic operational meetings with business and IT stakeholders to address opportunities and risks related to on-premises infrastructure.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure all costs are properly monitored and reported.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the area of computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Scrum, SAFe or other Agile related
  • 5+ years’ experience in on-premises infrastructure components (IaaS, PaaS, Storage, Connectivity, Data Center)
  • Knowledge of FinOps
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow, Splunk, Ariba, Microsoft apps
  • Experienced in translating business requirements to architectural solutions
  • Experience with automation
  • You understand the needs of Operations (ITIL)

Compensation

For this position, the indicative (fixed) annual salary range is between €96,000 - €108,000. This range comprises vacation allowance and a 13th-month payment. Company profit sharing is not included in this range. The actual compensation offered will depend on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: job-related skills, relevant education and (work) experience, certifications, demonstrated abilities of the candidate, and pay relative to other team members.
