Bachelor/Master Internship: Assurance readiness Sustainability Reporting

Review the 2025 DAF Sustainability Report for CSRD compliance, identify gaps, and recommend practical enhancements to align the 2026 report more closely with CSRD standards.

About the Role

DAF and PACCAR are working on their sustainability strategy, reporting, and internal control framework. Sustainability is defined in our DAF values as:

We want to improve our reporting on Sustainability and are therefore looking for a student to support us in:

• Supporting the Controller Financial Accounting and DAF Sustainability manager in improving data reliability in line with limited assurance criteria
• Studying and advising on limited assurance assessment criteria for CSRD
• Checking the data collection and reporting process for the 2025 sustainability report and advising or implementing improvements
• Verifying and improving the internal control framework for Sustainability data based on the 2025 sustainability reporting process
• Validating correctness of data in the data-collection tool Workiva and applying improvements

Your Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bachelor or Master student who is studying in the direction of, for example, Finance, Sustainability, Economics, Accounting, or similar. You are available from February 2026 until June 2026.

• Knowledge of ESG, CSRD legislation and data assurance
• Language skills: Good communication skills (writing and speaking) in English and Dutch are required
• Competencies: advanced knowledge of Excel, Workiva W-desk, PowerBI (or other reporting tools)

Since this is a project where we are looking for practical results, graduation theses might not fit.

Department

The Sustainability department is responsible for improving sustainability within DAF and its value chain, making it measurable, reportable and auditable. This can only be done by integrating sustainability reporting processes in all business processes and creating sustainability goals for every department.

The Sustainability department is part of the Finance and Control organization of DAF Trucks and is based in Eindhoven. The role of the finance and control organization is to provide correct and accurate financial/business information and maintain strong internal controls to make sure we comply with all legal requirements and provide accurate information to our stakeholders.

As from 2027, DAF is required to disclose significantly more non-financial information in its annual report to meet ESG/CSRD requirements. This information has to be audited (limited assurance) by an external auditor. Therefore, we have to make sure data is reliable, complete and accurate and controls are in place to safeguard accurate and complete reporting.
