Data Center Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Datacenter Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. This individual should have a strong background in both design and planning of large-scale physical infrastructure projects, including migration and decommissioning. They will play a critical role in managing vendors, identifying and solving complex project issues, and ensuring on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, ability to work effectively across time zones, and a deep understanding of data center equipment. They should have a proven track record of managing complex projects and have a passion for driving continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Partner with internal infrastructure and product teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and translate them into well-defined project plans that align with overall project goals and objectives.
• Track project deployment status and report on the progress to stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring that everyone is well informed and updated on the project status and changes.
• Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to ensure project direction and decisions are shared and understood by all relevant parties.
• Lead post-implementation retrospectives to evaluate the success of the project, identify areas for improvement, and use the findings to inform future project planning.
• Work closely with procurement to manage the ordering and shipping of hardware required for project deployment. Ensure procurement activities are executed in a timely and efficient manner to avoid any delays or obstacles in the project progress.

Who you are

• A proven track record of success as a Datacenter Engineer, with experience leading projects from start to finish, and a strong ability to take ownership of medium to large cross-team projects in an organized and structured manner.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, with proficiency in English.
• A strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently, ensuring project goals and deadlines are met.
• A strong affinity with hardware and operating systems, with experience developing, building, and operating highly reliable and efficient data centers in a mission critical environment.
• A solid understanding of installing and maintaining equipment for data centers, such as servers, switches, and routers, with the ability to ensure repeatability across global data centers.
• Knowledge of asset management, stock management, and DCIM, with the ability to effectively manage data center resources.

This role is based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
