Internship focus areas

As an intern at ACE + Company you will be working on internal projects focusing on Sustainable Finance. Currently, the world of sustainable finance is evolving due to new sustainability regulations, a shifting geo-political landscape, and technological developments. This has a significant impact on banks, insurance companies and investment managers.

We are looking for a motivated intern to dive into one of the following areas:

• SFDR 2.0: understanding the implications of the upcoming update to the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation in 2026, which will clarify which financial products can be called sustainable. The new rules will set stricter standards for how banks and investors report on sustainability, making greenwashing more difficult

• ESG data: exploring how financial institutions can improve the collection, validation, and use of ESG data in reporting, regulatory compliance and decision-making. Reliable sustainability data is key for building trust, meeting rules, and ultimately turning sustainability goals into real action

• The broader sustainable finance landscape: analysing key trends, technological and innovative developments, and opportunities across regulations, commitments, and market practices, and what these mean for financial institutions in today’s fast-changing world

Besides your study research or graduation assignment and our internal use of the research, your work may also support our clients, who are executive teams and boards of directors in the financial sector. If you are passionate about sustainability, change management, and the financial industry, this internship will be an excellent next step.

Job requirements

What you’ll bring:

• Languages: Professional working proficiency in English. Dutch is an advantage but not required
• Education: Completed a bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a master’s degree in Sustainability, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Experience: Background in market research, competitive analysis, or similar, preferably in sustainability, technology, or financial services
• Mindset: Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and professional mindset. You are results-driven with the ability to adapt in complex and fast-changing environments
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with sustainability and/or the financial sector is highly desirable
  • Curiosity about future developments in sustainable finance, particularly regulation
