Your typical day at fonQ…

• 9:00 – Stand-Up Meeting: Your day begins with a quick stand-up meeting with the tech team, where you discuss project updates, any roadblocks, and your priorities for the day.
• 9:30 – Coding and Development: After the stand-up, you dive into coding, whether it’s developing a new feature or refining an existing one.
• 11:00 – Stakeholder Meeting: Mid-morning, you join a meeting with stakeholders to gather more details on a new requirement or clarify specs on an ongoing project.
• 13:30 – Code Review and Feedback: After lunch, you review and provide feedback on code written by other team members.
• 15:00 – Troubleshooting and Production Support: Later, you troubleshoot any production issues that might have popped up, working with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
• 16:30 – Wrap-Up and Planning for Next Day: The day wraps up with a final check on any outstanding tasks and preparing priorities for the next day.

Job requirements

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to…

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications;
• Participate in the design of robust software applications;
• Conduct code reviews, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability;
• Document technical specifications, workflows, and best practices;
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production and test environments.

Our new colleague will have…

• Education: HBO or WO level of education, or equivalent working experience in software engineering that proves you know your stuff!
• Experience: 4+ years of hands-on coding in software development, with a focus on PHP. Deep understanding of SOLID principles for object-oriented design and experience applying these concepts in practice.
• E-commerce background: Previously worked in an e-commerce company.

Additionally, you will have a passion for…

• Databases: Strong in SQL databases (like MySQL or PostgreSQL) and know how to keep data flowing smoothly.
• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• SOLID Design Principles: You understand SOLID principles for object-oriented design and apply them to create clean, efficient code.
• Cloud Skills: GCP (or AWS) isn’t just a buzzword to you. You know your way around services like Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, and GKE.
• MVC Frameworks: Proficiency with MVC frameworks (e.g., Yii2 or Symfony).
