Python Developer

Are you a Python Developer with a passion for improving the developer experience? Do you want to make an impact by building backend solutions that enable Lely to deploy its software to more than 25,000 farms? Then this is your chance. As a Backend Developer (Python) at Lely, you'll help build the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), the foundation upon which our entire software organization operates.

You’ll be part of the Developer Experience Team and work closely with other engineers to optimize internal tooling and infrastructure. Your work will empower software development teams to deliver faster and more reliably. You will develop and maintain backend systems and tools that are widely used across our organization.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain internal tooling for tracking all our deployments on the Edge (Farms!)
• Write reliable and scalable Python applications for platform and DevOps purposes
• Further develop our Internal Developer Platform in collaboration with other teams
• Build secure, automated, and robust workflows for deployment and provisioning
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
• Actively contribute to improving developer productivity and developer experience

You are a pragmatic developer with a passion for quality and user-friendliness. You are solution-oriented, work in a structured way, and have an eye for balancing standardization with flexibility.

In addition, you bring the following:

• Proven experience with Python and developing scalable, robust backend applications
• Experience with Kubernetes or other container environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab) and cloud platforms such as Azure
• Knowledge of tools such as Talos, ArgoCD, Omni, or Backstage is a plus
