As Project Coordinator at 4TU.ResearchData you will coordinate a two-year project to build digital skills training and lesson development capacity in the Netherlands for the Natural and Engineering Sciences (NES). The project is funded by NWO through the Thematic Digital Competence Centre for Natural and Engineering Sciences and aims to stimulate digital research skills in NES using the methods and networks of the Carpentries. More specifically, the project will train 50 new Carpentries instructors and connect these instructors in local/regional training hubs of research performing organisations. The project will also train three teams to develop new lesson materials relevant to the NES domain which will be made publicly available.

In this role, you will work closely with project partners from several institutions in the Netherlands as well as the Dutch network of Carpentries Coordinators, Research Software Training NL (RST-NL), Coding Cafés and other stakeholders. You will be part of the 4TU.ResearchData team at the TU Delft Library.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Project coordination including leading work packages and overseeing project timelines, milestones and deliverables;
  • Project administration and reporting, including financial administration of the project for 4TU.ResearchData;
  • Liaising and coordinating with other work package leaders, project partners and networks (e.g. Carpentries Coordinators Network NL, RST-NL, Coding Cafés) and other project stakeholders, including related TDCC NES projects;
  • Developing and managing calls for instructor training, lesson development and workshop hosting, including all processes and documents (e.g. eligibility criteria, selection processes, application forms);
  • Facilitating and strengthening connections between new instructors and relevant networks and training activities;
  • Supporting the formation of local training hubs by liaising with institutions and networks;
  • Writing and disseminating project news, announcements and updates to showcase outcomes;
