What you’ll do

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of Shopify features; from scoping and solution design to development, testing, deployment, and post‑release learning.
• Build high‑quality themes and features in Liquid and Shopify Functions, with maintainable code and reliable release practices.
• Work in biweekly sprints, contribute to planning/reviews/retros, and keep stakeholders aligned with crisp, proactive communication.
• Collaborate directly with clients, Tracking Specialists, CRO Specialists, Designers, and fellow (freelance) Shopify developers to turn insights into action.
• Safeguard quality through code reviews, performance awareness, and incident response that restores stability quickly and transparently

Requirements

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional Shopify development, preferably across multiple production stores.
• Strong in Liquid, Shopify Functions, CI/CD, and GitHub-based workflows.
• Experience with larger stores, or eager to learn. For us, 1M+ sessions, 10+ app integrations, 6+ locales is everyday practice.
• Communicative and proactive. Able to scope clearly, prepare your work for Q&A, and keep teams and customers unblocked.
• Comfortable owning deployments and releases, including approvals, rollbacks, and clean handovers.

Nice to have

• Custom apps and custom integrations (ERP, WMS, PIM, CDP), and API work with Shopify Admin/Storefront.
• Experience in collaborating with CRO, tracking specialists and data analysts

How we work

• Biweekly sprints with core rituals; flexibility when the work demands it, without losing cadence.
• Code reviews as standard, with a growth path toward mentoring junior developers.
• Working location: Hybrid - at least 1 day a week in from office in Utrecht, sometimes at client offices, and from home.
• English is the default; Dutch is a plus.

Reporting

• Reports to the Domain Lead (Development Lead).
