About this position

Join TNO as Business Development Manager and work at the forefront of semiconductor and photonics packaging innovation at our partner, Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC) in Nijmegen. CITC is a non-profit, open innovation center specialising in heterogeneous integration and advanced chip packaging and has created an effective ecosystem in which companies, research and educational institutes work on bridging the gap between academics and industry. Together, we work on a new generation of packages providing smart, safe, and rugged housing for chips. CITC's contribution to the ecosystem is to provide access to innovation, infrastructure, and education. Our ambition is to become a leading innovation partner in the fields of semiconductor and photonics packaging. CITC was founded in 2019 with strategic partners TNO and Delft University of Technology and is supported by local and regional governments. Located on Noviotech Campus Nijmegen, CITC is perfectly situated in the heart of the Dutch semiconductor industry. The business development manager we are looking for will help leading brands in the semiconductor industry achieve their R&D goals.

What will be your role?

As Business Development Manager you are the first point of contact with potential and existing customers. You will identify market needs and challenges, and study trends. This will help you generate leads and capitalize on opportunities for CITC’s expertise.

In collaboration with our program managers, technical experts, marketing and legal experts, you will drive the entire acquisition process, negotiating and closing deals. In addition, you will build and expand your network in the advanced chip packaging industry, traveling the world.

You will represent us at leading trade fairs, conferences and exhibitions, and put CITC on the map. With your in-depth knowledge, you will also help define our research roadmap, while benchmarking and validating our solutions.

The CITC team you will join consists of more than 20 researchers, process engineers and program managers. As Business Development Manager you will also be part of the CITC management team, where you will play a crucial role in shaping and developing CITC. What we expect from you

You are strong in connecting commerce and applied research, focused on the development of a next generation in advanced chip packaging. You have an existing network in the semiconductor industry, preferably in the field of advanced packaging.

You know how to identify market challenges and translate in-depth technology and market know-how into R&D projects. With your excellent communication skills you convince customers in Europe and beyond.

Other knowledge and skills you bring to CITC and TNO:

• An MSc or PhD in technical sciences or academic skills, gained through experience
• Extensive experience in market analysis and business development for R&D projects in the semiconductor or high-tech domain, with a demonstrable success rate of closed deals
• You connect easily with people from diverse backgrounds and at all levels, and you enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams.
