About the role:

Are you ready to shape the future of home appliances? As a Pre-Development Engineer Kitchen Appliances, you will translate complex consumer, and business wishes into fully proven technical solutions, innovative products, and effective platforms, applying your expertise in the area of Physics and flow dynamics.

The impact you’ll make:

• Develop new functions within multi-disciplinary project teams, including marketing, design, and innovation professionals.
• Stretch existing platforms or design new ones that will be the foundation for upcoming innovation projects in a given product category.
• Convert commercial, functional, and aesthetic product requirements into technical concepts and solutions. Ensure the timely delivery of new functions and platform performance, quality, and cost, working closely with the Product Project Manager and leader to validate them.
• Implement the platform and conduct preliminary testing and validation on both part and system levels together with the Testing team.
• Lead platform benchmarks to ensure current platform competitiveness.
• Assist the scouting team in analyzing and assessing new supplier-based innovations according to the subcategory platform strategy.
• Work out the interfaces and specific requirements between mechanical, electronics, digital, industrialization, and sustainability experts and teams.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

• Education:
  • Engineering background, Master’s degree in Applied Physics Engineering, with strong Mechanical affinity
• Experience:
  • Proven track record in development of new functionality for consumer products
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical & conceptual thinking, along with a systematic approach towards problem solving
  • Creative mindset seeing potential of new technologies and ideas to deliver new innovations
  • Drive for quality yet with pragmatic and ‘can do’ mindset, able to operate in a dynamic environment
  • Good communication skills in English both verbally and written
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma and Black belt certification is a plus.
