Welcome app is looking for a Social Media & Content Creation Intern!

Do you want to contribute to a society where everyone can take part? Would you like to use your creativity to reach and engage local municipalities, community organisations, and newcomers? Do you enjoy social media, storytelling, and working on something that truly makes a difference? Then keep reading.

What is Welcome app?

Welcome app supports local municipalities and community organisations in their work with newcomers. We bring together relevant information, activities, and services in one app. This makes it easier for municipalities to engage their residents, and for newcomers to find their way, make connections, and seize opportunities.

Who are we looking for?

As a Social Media & Communications Intern, you will help tell and share our story. You will work within the Go-to-Market team to bring our communications to life. You will have the space to use your creativity while learning how to manage social media in a mission-driven scale-up that collaborates with local municipalities and community organisations across the Netherlands.

You combine a strategic eye with a hands-on mentality.

What will you be doing?

  • Deliver campaigns: Support the delivery of communications campaigns aimed at municipalities, organisations, and newcomers, both online and offline.

  • Create content: Produce inspiring and accessible content (text, visuals, video) in our tone of voice.

  • Manage social media: Post and schedule content on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and experiment with new channels.

  • Community communications: Manage our in-app communication channels (such as messages, updates, and groups) to ensure both newcomers and organisations feel engaged.

What are we looking for?

  • An interest in digital marketing, social media, and online communications.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • A proactive, creative, and independent working style.
  • Experience with Canva, Figma, or similar tools, and confidence in both visual and written communication.
  • You have a good command of Dutch and English – other languages are an advantage, especially if you have a newcomer background.

While meeting the required qualifications makes you a strong candidate, we also encourage applicants with alternative experiences to apply. If you haven’t followed a traditional path, don’t let that stop you from considering us. We are always looking for people who add something new to our team.

What we offer.

  • Start date: preferably September 2025
  • Flexible hours (minimum 24 hours per week – (negotiable)
  • € 400 internship allowance per month
  • Travel allowance
  • Creative role within a mission-driven startup
  • Lots of room for growth, initiative and own interpretation
  • Space and guidance for (graduation) research
  • Flexible, hybrid and remote working
  • Free lunch at our office in the heart of Amsterdam

Are you ready to make a difference with your content? Send your resume and a short motivation to hr@welcomeapp.nl. Still in doubt? Send us an email with your questions!

We review applications continuously. Please note: responses without a motivation letter will not be considered.
