Join our team at Holland Colours and co-create a colorful future as a Data Specialist.

Introduction

Every time you suggest an AI experiment, the answer is “maybe next quarter.” At Holland Colours, the next quarter is now. As a Data Specialist, you scout emerging technologies, run proofs of concept and implement the winning ideas. Our enterprise data architecture is live, Boomi keeps systems in sync and the first AI pilots are underway. Your mission? Show the business what’s possible with AI, prove the ROI and watch demand for your skills explode. In return, you’ll receive a salary of up to €5.630, plus profit share of up to 1.5 month salary, and a year-end bonus of up to €1.349.

Your challenge

Manufacturing is entering an AI decade that will reshape how we plan, produce and serve customers worldwide. Your first horizon is quality: define measurable standards for accurate, complete and timely records, and make them non-negotiable across every workflow. Milestone two is intelligence. Convert the cleansed data lake into real-time dashboards that steer everyday calls in sales, production, and logistics. Stage three: autonomy. Drive AI engines for forecasting inventory, smart purchasing and adaptive production planning to free up cash and time.

What will you be doing?

As a Data Specialist at Holland Colours, your mission is to turn reliable data into business-changing intelligence. You’ll be the catalyst who shows leaders exactly where data adds profit, and how to capture it. With an innovator’s mindset, you spot high-value AI use cases, build prototypes, and drive their successful roll-out. This is what you’ll do:

  • You build and continuously refine scalable data models, pipelines and governance processes that keep information complete, accurate and timely;
  • You define, track and improve data-quality KPIs;
  • You analyse data flows, spot root causes of errors and brief process owners on fixes;
  • You evaluate new data and AI technologies, advising where they fit;
  • You develop machine learning models that automate decisions;
  • You translate technical possibilities into clear proposals for stakeholders and steer pilots from proof-of-concept to production;
  • You maintain and fine-tune the Boomi integration layer.

The team

As a Data Specialist at Holland Colours, you are part of a Global IT team of seven. At the centre sits the Global IT Manager, your direct line and sparring partner. Together you set priorities, review data-quality KPIs and co-chair the Change Advisory Board, where every system tweak is evaluated. When a data hiccup points to a broken workflow, you dive in with one of four Business Process Owners. Root cause mapped, you redesign the flow and track fixes. The moment a new validation rule or extra field is needed, you analyze the requirement and hand it to one of the application managers.

On the analytics front, you team up with the BI Specialist: he spots missing elements for dashboards, you make sure source systems capture them, and the warehouse delivers clean feeds. AI pilots bring you shoulder-to-shoulder with business sponsors. Most of the crew is on-site in Apeldoorn every Tuesday and Thursday, while global teammates dial in for a short sync every other Friday. Successes (whether a spotless data milestone or an AI go-live) are marked with anything from emoji-filled chats to team dinners.

The culture? Transparent and collaborative, built on trust, not titles. We may be publicly listed, but our culture is anything but corporate. We value open dialogue and collaboration across all levels. If you bring initiative and forward-thinking ideas, you’ll find autonomy and support waiting for you. Based in Apeldoorn, you’ll have the flexibility to work remotely up to three days a week.

Ready to Grow?

Your talent

As a Data Specialist at Holland Colours, you combine analytical skills with natural curiosity for emerging AI possibilities. Ready to step into the driver’s seat? Here’s what you need:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, IT, Mathematics, Analytics or a number-oriented field;
  • You bring at least 3 years of experience improving data quality or governance in an enterprise setting;
  • You live and breathe tech by immersing yourself in new releases, research papers, GitHub commits, and dev-podcast feeds until tomorrow’s tech feels routine;
  • You run on ownership: launching ideas and steering them to impact is your energy source;
  • You thrive on collaboration with BI, application and process teams;
  • You think in ROI: framing each use case in terms of cost saved, revenue gained, or risk reduced;
  • You feel alive in a global setting, speak fluent English (Dutch is a bonus), and you are available on-site in Apeldoorn at least two days a week.

Our offer

As a Data Specialist at Holland Colours, you step into a publicly listed, international manufacturing company that sees technology as a competitive edge rather than a buzzword. We back curiosity with real budget, celebrate every milestone as a team and give you the flexibility to work when, and where, you’re at your best. In return, you’ll be rewarded with excellent benefits:

  • You receive a salary that reflects your experience, up to €5.630
  • You share in the company’s success with a profit bonus of up to 1.5 months’ salary per year
  • You also receive an 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of up to €1,349
  • You have 24 vacation days plus 6 additional leave (ATV) days
  • You benefit from a solid pension plan, a discount on collective health insurance, and a sustainable employability budget
  • You start with a one-year contract, with the prospect of a permanent position.

If you're driven by data, passionate about sustainability, and ready to turn insights into impact, this is your call to action.
