As a Receiving Clerk for the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, you will be responsible for the acceptance and control of all incoming deliveries, maintaining an optimal goods inventory, correct storage and issue of goods. You will be ensuring the receiving and distribute goods and equipment on the basis of the purchasing provisions and regulations of Hilton Worldwide.

Next to that every team member at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will be ensuring consistent quality of customer service is provided to the guests in accordance with the Waldorf Astoria True Service Standards.

To provide guests with a memorable stay experience that is personalized to their needs, throughout their stay at the hotel by ensuring that the team is responding efficiently to their enquiries and advising them of the amenities and benefits offered by the hotel.

Supports team members on a daily basis with any queries and issues that may arise, engages with them to ensure well-being and satisfaction. Has the responsibility to assist the management to drive and deliver positive results.

Essential functions:

As a Receiving clerk you will be performing the following tasks to the highest standards, divided into the following key result areas for this position: Receiving and Delivering, Inventory, Administration and General functions.

Receiving and Delivering

  • Acceptance and close control of all incoming goods in respect of volume, quality and quantity, based on BirchStreet system usage.
  • Verify the accuracy and accept all purchased products into the hotel.
  • Communicate immediately on delivery discrepancy to relevant departments and suppliers.
  • Ensure that all items are transported to the respective departments.
  • Ensure all goods are properly received in Birch Street System.

Inventory

  • Support and advise the involved departments to maintain the proper par-stock levels and physical inventory counting with external inventory consultants.

Administration

  • Use the hotel computer system as a rational organizational tool for managing and establishing orders, bookings.
  • Enter all external goods movements daily in Birch Street.
  • Ensure all logs are up to date for “goods in”, “transfer” and “goods out”.
  • Adhere to the ordering and receiving schedule and ensure all orders are placed and received timely.

General

  • Attend mandatory daily briefings and departmental meetings, etc.
  • Keep clean and organized the loading bay area
  • Execute on ad hoc tasks and/or requests as instructed by the Management.
  • Demonstrates complete working knowledge of the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam Service Delivery Standards.
  • Participates in developing new programs and ideas to improve TWS, guest satisfaction and revenue sources.

Supportive function:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Assist in the daily operation of the storeroom to include, but not limited to, receiving and placing products, reconciling received items to purchase orders to verify accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations regarding storage, safety and sanitation.
