As our Procurement Excellence & Transformation Manager, you’ll co-design the future of procurement at bol, transforming it from a traditional buying function into an agile, data-driven powerhouse. Through standardized processes, digital enablement, and a laser focus on continuous improvement, you’ll ensure every euro spent creates maximum customer impact. The biggest challenge

Building a world-class procurement function while the business is running, often at breakneck speed. To maximize your impact, you’ll need to translate our transformation vision into pragmatic roadmaps that deliver tangible value. How do you standardize processes across diverse categories without stifling innovation? How do you embed compliance and governance while maintaining the agility that makes bol so successful? The real test: driving the adoption of new methods across teams accustomed to autonomy while proving that excellence and standardization enable rather than constrain. As such, you’ll become our ‘governance guardian’ AND ‘innovation enabler.’ For everyone, from warehouse operators to the C-suite.

What you'll do as the Procurement Excellence & Transformation Manager

As the transformation catalyst within our Procurement Centre of Excellence, you’ll shape how procurement evolves from a supporting role into a valued business partner. Reporting to the Manager of the Procurement Centre of Excellence, you’ll lead the design and implementation of procurement-wide transformation initiatives that fundamentally change how we create value – with a clear mandate to achieve procurement maturity uplift by 2027.

You’ll own the procurement improvement agenda – from mapping current state processes to implementing best-in-class methodologies that scale across categories. This means developing standardized frameworks for purchasing everything from cloud compute services to cardboard boxes while maintaining flexibility to accommodate category-specific needs. Through structured approaches like Lean Six Sigma, you’ll optimize operations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Your digital transformation leadership skills will be crucial to success. You’ll drive the adoption of procurement technologies that automate the mundane and illuminate the strategic – from e-sourcing platforms to spend analytics dashboards that make every procurement decision data-driven. But technology is just the enabler; you’ll also ensure our people have the capabilities and mindset to leverage these tools effectively. As the governance architect, you’ll maintain our procurement policy framework, ensuring it’s both robust enough to mitigate risks and sufficiently practical to follow. You’ll develop KPI frameworks that transform vague notions of procurement performance into metrics that inspire behavior.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise-wide procurement transformation initiatives from conception to adoption
  • Design and implement procurement processes and methodologies across all categories
  • Own the procurement policy framework, ensuring compliance while enabling agility
  • Develop comprehensive performance management systems, complete with KPIs and dashboards
  • Drive transformation through tool selection, implementation, and adoption programs
  • Build procurement capabilities by leveraging training, knowledge management, and competency frameworks
  • Partner with leadership to align roadmaps with strategic business objectives
  • Become the go-to expert in procurement excellence, advising on best practices and innovations

Your consulting background means you’ve seen what works (and what doesn’t) across multiple organizations – and you’re ready to apply those learnings at scale. With proven experience writing procurement policies that people actually want to follow, leading improvement initiatives that deliver measurable maturity uplift, and the change management skills to bring ‘skeptics’ along for the ride, you’re fully equipped to navigate this journey. Your analytical prowess in process redesign is matched by your ability to identify and mitigate procurement risks before they materialize. Additionally, you combine methodology mastery (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) with the EQ to embed new behaviors across diverse teams.

You’ll join the newly formed Procurement Centre of Excellence, a strategic team chartered to elevate procurement from a tactical necessity to a strategic advantage. Working closely with category leads, business stakeholders, and the broader procurement community, you’ll drive bol’s evolution into a truly agile business partner. The environment demands both strategic thinking and business-minded pragmatism – elegant solutions that actually work always trump academic theories that don’t.
