Internship: Team Assurance Implementation & Shift Communication (Ridderkerk)

Assignment type: Internship

Start date: September 2025

Assignment duration: 6 months

Location: Ridderkerk

Desired study: Industrial engineering, Operations Management & Logistics, Maintenance Management

Description of assignment

One of our Site Based teams works in a 24/7 shift pattern. We experience that it is very difficult to keep all stakeholders properly aligned about relevant topics like: incidents, priorities, status of maintenance activities, spare parts, improvement actions, key performance indicators etc. This results in frustrations within the team and customer and in suboptimal use of resources.

At a site in Australia, the site-based team has experienced massive benefits from the use of a tool called Team Assurance to streamline information flows and improve shift handovers and priority setting.

The power of this tool is that it can be configured in such a way that it fits the site-specific wishes and peculiarities.

We are looking for a student that:

  • Specifies the information needs from involved stakeholders (e.g. customer, maintenance management and technicians)
  • Translates the needs into requirements
  • Configures the Team Assurance tool in such a way that the needs are fulfilled
  • Supports in rolling out the tool at site by training and coaching the different stakeholders.

Department description

Student will report into the warehouse Service Account management team within the Benelux.

The line management responsibility for the WS BNL site-based teams resides within this team.

We expect that the student will be on customer site for at least 3 days a week. The site will be situated in Ridderkerk. The student will mainly work during office hours but as the assignment focusses on shift handovers, also some shift handovers in the evening / early morning need to be attended occasionally.

Tasks/responsibilities

  • Identify information needs of key stakeholders (e.g. customer, technicians, management)
  • Translate these needs into functional requirements
  • Configure the Team Assurance tool to match site-specific needs
  • Support implementation through training and coaching on-site
  • Attend shift handovers (including outside office hours) and engage with the shopfloor team

Your profile

  • Should be able to configure the software tool and understand how this tool could work optimally in a landscape

  • The link with the operational maintenance team is highly important and relevant for setting up this tool. You must not only be interested in IT but also willing to be on the floor, speaking with engineers to fully understand their needs.

  • Willingness to travel to Ridderkerk for at least 3 days a week
