Internship – Metal Packaging Procurement / Data Analytics at HEINEKEN

HEINEKEN is looking for you!

The Metal Packaging team is looking for talented students to help us with a number of key strategic priorities for our team.

The internship

This position is at Heineken Global Procurement, the procurement company of Heineken, that is responsible for global sourcing of strategic materials like malt, bottles, cans, hops, etc. You will be working in the Metal Packaging team, which is acting globally and is one of the fastest growing categories in terms of volume and spend. It has a consolidated supply base with strong global and regional players and is heavily influenced by supply and demand, as well as by commodities such as aluminium and energy. The category is executing a number of projects that will bring it to a next level.

You will be working on several projects of which a few, if desired, can be used to write your thesis on.

  • Data-Driven Sourcing Strategy and Should Costing: Gathering and analysing procurement data to support strategic decision-making. This includes evaluating supplier performance, cost trends, and market dynamics to inform contract negotiations and supplier selection. Your work supports building our negotiation strategies and helps develop and utilise detailed should cost models for cans and crown corks.
  • Cost Benchmarking and Continuous Improvement Across Suppliers: Develop comparative analyses across suppliers and regions using suppliers P&L information. Your insights will contribute to identifying cost improvement opportunities and will create a deep financial understanding of our suppliers.
  • Supply Chain Modelling and Optimization (Europe & Americas): Analyse current allocation models and transport flows across multiple European operating companies and collaborate with the Supply Chain & Planning teams to use prescriptive analytics software to optimize our cans allocation. Your work will help identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain resilience by optimizing sourcing locations and delivery routes.

Strong analytical and Excel skills would be a big plus in driving these projects.

The start of your internship

Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Furthermore, you can organize fun activities with your fellow interns.

We like to bring the outside world inside and therefore we embrace new, fresh ideas with enthusiasm. Of course, always with the guidance that is right for you.
