We are looking for a Senior Commodity Market Analyst - Dairy to join our Market Intelligence team and take the lead on Dairy Commodities - our largest and most strategically critical exposure. Your mission: deliver high-impact market intelligence, guide risk management strategies, and empower business decisions across Finance, Procurement, and Senior Leadership.

As part of this journey, the Senior Dairy Market Analyst will provide critical market insights and strategic guidance to key stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Commodity Market Analysis: Lead fundamental analysis of dairy commodities (supply/demand, production, trade flows, stocks, regulatory); Monitor macroeconomic trends and geopolitical factors that influence dairy markets; Stay ahead of global market developments and synthesise forward-looking insights for stakeholders.
• Forecasting & Strategic Reporting: Deliver commodity price forecasts to support Danone’s Monthly Rolling Forecast, Budget, and Strategic Plan; Drive weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting to Finance and Procurement teams; Provide data-driven storytelling with clear strategic implications.
• Risk Management & Coverage Strategies: Collaborate with Risk Managers and Buyers to design and improve risk management policies; Use analytics and back-testing to evaluate coverage strategies, simulate hedging models, and challenge supplier pricing mechanisms; Help translate market views into actionable hedging and contracting recommendations.
• Stakeholder & Consultant Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to Procurement, Controlling, and Finance stakeholders; Maintain strong relationships with external consultants and industry experts to enrich Danone’s view of the market.
• Innovation & Digital Tools: Collaborate with Data Science and Digital teams to develop decision-support tools (dashboards, scenario models); Use digital solutions to bring transparency, consistency, and speed to market decision-making.

About you

You are a strong market analyst with a passion for commodity dynamics and a track record of turning complexity into clarity. You’re proactive, analytical, and know how to build trust across senior stakeholders.

Your Background

• Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Agribusiness, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in commodity market analysis, ideally with exposure to dairy, agri-food, or soft commodities.
• Proven ability to produce forecasts and risk assessments with financial impact.

Your Skills

• Strong analytical and storytelling abilities – able to explain complex market topics in plain language.
• Experience with market data platforms, Excel, and Power BI; coding skills (e.g. Python, R) a plus.
• Familiarity with commodity trading, hedging instruments, or risk management frameworks is a bonus.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages are a plus.
