Role description

As Owlin’s Data Quality Analyst you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality of our data, ensuring that Owlin’s clients are receiving the data that is relevant for them. This position involves assessing, analyzing, and interpreting large textual datasets of complex data to identify data quality issues and implement corrective measures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex data issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be part of our product team who serves as the interface between our raw data and our clients. Recent graduates with strong internship experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Generating and assessing queries for: entity matching, entity disambiguation and event classification
• Perform data quality assessments and audits to identify data issues and anomalies
• Occasionally interact with clients to ensure that we deliver quality results to their requests
• Writing scripts to facilitate more efficient and effective workflows
• Establish market standard lexicons/taxonomies that allow our users to slice and dice the risks for their third parties

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant professional experience
• University working and thinking level in a technical field
• Must have a valid work permit to work in the Netherlands
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data querying languages
• Enjoys working with diverse types of people like customers, engineers, data scientists
• Curiosity and learning new things is your second nature and part of what gets you going
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate complex data issues clearly and effectively to various stakeholders
• Is willing to have flexible working hours (within reason) since our team is split between Europe and Americas
• Understands, lives and breathes a customer first mentality and approach
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the drive to exceed expectations

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience within the risk domain
• Familiarity with document-oriented databases
• Knowledge of statistical methods for Quality Control / Quality Assurance (QC/QA)
