We are seeking a detail-oriented self-sufficient Regional Accountant with strong knowledge of Dutch financial administration and tax regulations to oversee the financial operations of our European regional holding organization. This role demands hands-on experience in Dutch statutory compliance (KvK, VAT returns, etc.) and the ability to work independently. This role is central in supporting monthly financial reporting, invoice and payment accuracy, intercompany reconciliations, and compliance with Dutch administrative and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Dutch Financial Administration & Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with Dutch financial regulations, including VAT returns, corporate income tax, KvK filings, and interactions with the Dutch Tax Authorities.
  • Monitor Dutch administrative deadlines and ensure timely filings and payments

Invoice Management & Processing:

  • Receive, review, and process third-party invoices, especially those related to Dutch entities.
  • Code invoices accurately and ensure proper approval in line with internal policies
  • Book invoices in the ERP system (e.g., D365) accurately and in line with Dutch regulations.

Intercompany Coordination:

  • Handle invoicing of the European and Group management fee as well as other Group and regional charges to all European countries.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate intercompany matching and reconciliation with country finance teams.
  • Resolve discrepancies and collaborate with internal stakeholders across regions.

Reporting & Financial Systems:

  • Perform monthly uploads and reviews of financial data in OneStream.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly reporting packages for the regional entity.
  • Manage monthly/quarterly closings, VAT & tax return preparations, and financial statement submissions in line with Dutch requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • +4 years of relevant experience in a Dutch or European SME or commercial finance environment.

  • Proven experience with Dutch statutory financial administration, including VAT, tax filings, and KvK reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting and administrative systems; ability to read and work with Dutch documentation and government portals.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics D365); OneStream experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently in a matrixed, international organization.

  • Fluent in English; Dutch language proficiency at a level sufficient to understand Dutch regulatory and administrative documents.

  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with invoice approval workflows and shared services functions.
