Are you ready to grow your skills and make an impact? As a Junior Python Developer, you’ll help build some of the most innovative banking applications on the market—while developing yourself into an expert coder alongside other ambitious young professionals.

You and your future

Join an agile team of Developers, DevOps Engineers, Business Analysts, and Credit Risk Modellers. Together, you’ll build and maintain risk models that help Rabobank meet regulatory requirements. Our Credit Analytics department delivers reliable, timely risk assessments that support both internal and external demands. This department is responsible for implementing and maintaining IT applications and financial models, that support risk management.

You’ll also collaborate with fellow juniors on broader business challenges across the bank. With cutting-edge technology at your fingertips and one day a week dedicated to personal development, you’ll be set up for long-term success. After 18 months, our goal is to continue your journey with Rabobank.

Your development as a young professional

Within this program, you will have the opportunity to get to know yourself, the field, and Rabobank. The program lasts a total of 18 months. You will start the program in a junior position within one team, participate in workshops and training modules with other juniors, and quickly gain practical experience.

Together with others, there is room for creativity and initiative to organize events, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. This way, we continuously improve the program and ourselves! You will easily build a large and valuable network within the bank.

Your development as a starter

In the Rabobank Early Career Program IT, you will work on your personal development for 18 months. This includes personal leadership, relevant skills, and various themes such as sustainability, as well as learning how a bank operates. In addition to personal development, you will choose one of the IT tracks that suits you. In these tracks, you will focus more on the content of your role.

You will meet fellow starters from different departments weekly, and on other days you will work within your own team. Through business challenges and assignments, you will get to know a large part of the bank.

• Translate risk modeller requirements into production-ready Python code.
• Own your code—maintain and improve it throughout the software lifecycle.
• Apply an OPS and ITIL mindset to daily operations.

You and your talent

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field.
• 1–2 years of work experience.
• Affinity with Python development.
• Eager to learn T-SQL, C#, Azure, Flask, Redis, Celery, Docker, Pytest.
• Experience with production-level Python or a strong GitHub portfolio.
• Familiar with CI/CD and system pipelines.
• Comfortable managing and optimizing environments.
• Fluent in English.
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
• Open to feedback, solution-oriented, and adaptable.
