Purpose of the role

As a Project Engineer in our Packaging Technical Operations team, you will be instrumental in leading and managing device assembly and packaging projects from conception through execution. Your expertise will support the introduction of new products and equipment while engaging in problem-solving to enhance process robustness. Reporting to the Associate Director of Technical Operations, you will be leading and managing device assembly and packaging projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. You will engage in technology transfer and validation processes while supporting the introduction of new products and equipment.

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Lead or support the design, development and implementation of device assembly and packaging equipment solutions for pharmaceutical products in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Participate in technology transfer and validation of packaging and device assembly processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new device assembly and packaging technologies.
  • Provide technical oversight for the implementation of device assembly and packaging processes and equipment.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance device assembly and packaging process robustness and provide technical support for device assembly and packaging operations.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in packaging engineering, medical device combination products, or related roles, preferably in Technical Operations in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of device assembly and packaging equipment, processes, and technologies, along with problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated capability in project management and risk assessment/mitigation.
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • Experience in cross-functional and international team environments.
