Rituals is growing fast. We are steadily expanding in new territories, opening new stores and growing our online presence. Globally we’re opening over 200 new stores per year (EU, Middle East and Asia). As part of this growth a Global Indirect Tax manager position has become vacant within the Global tax department. As a Global Indirect Tax manager, you play a key role in ensuring our VAT compliance in a fast-growing, international environment.

Good to know: the Global Tax function (4 FTEs) for Rituals is based at our Amsterdam HQ. We are therefore responsible for tax advisory and compliance in all countries where Rituals operates. The tax department is part of the finance department with several sub teams, e.g., financial control, tax, internal control, finance operations and payroll. You will spend (most of) your time at our Amsterdam Central Head Office with a view on one of the most iconic Amsterdam canals.

As an Indirect Tax Manager you will apply your VAT expertise to strengthen and streamline our indirect tax processes. You’ll work closely with your team and collaborate with colleagues across the business and finance functions to ensure VAT compliance and operational efficiency. You will play a key role in identifying VAT risks and opportunities, supporting audits, and driving improvements in VAT-related systems, reporting, and cross-border flows.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and analyzing VAT legislation in the countries where Rituals operates
  • Advising internal stakeholders on VAT implications of new initiatives
  • Reviewing VAT returns and adjustments
  • Supporting external VAT audits
  • Identifying VAT risks and opportunities in our international operations
  • Leading projects such as system implementations, pricing structures, and cross-border flows
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and strengthening tax awareness across the organization

Bring all of you

You are keen to be the best in class. You are flexible, you enjoy making things better every day and you are a team player who thrives within a dynamic, fast-growing company.

  • You have at least 4–8 years of experience in VAT, preferably in an international environment or at a Big 4 firm
  • You hold a Master’s degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics
  • You are analytically strong, pragmatic and communicate clearly
  • You thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture
  • You bring a grounded and approachable personality, with a critical yet constructive and positive mindset
  • You are a self-starter who takes ownership and shows initiative
  • You are fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written

Benefits of working at Rituals

  • Training, coaching & development opportunities
  • Staff discount on Rituals products
  • Attractive bonus
  • Numerous health & wellbeing initiatives
  • Company & team events
