Job Summary/Purpose of the Role

This role supports initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the company. The intern will play a key role in assisting the KARL LAGERFELD Sustainability team with both sustainability-related projects and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the data collection needed for the GHG emissions associated with Scope 1 and Scope 2 of the GHG Protocol Standard: Energy consumption of stores and HQs, Energy provider information and Renewable Energy Certificates.
  • Monitor and analyze the environmental performance of KARL LAGERFELD factories.
  • Research into ongoing legislation & EU directives (EUDR, GPSR, AGEC LAW etc.).
  • Support the Sustainability Team on Circular Economy and Traceability initiatives and pilots.
  • Assist in organizing Cross Functional Meetings and answering internal sustainability-related questions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in evaluating packaging reduction initiatives and exploring alternative packaging solutions across the value chain.
  • Ad hoc support on running projects on different topics.

Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, or a related field for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to gather, manage, and analyse sustainability-related data efficiently.
  • Independent with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as excellent communication skills - fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Interested in learning more about legal requirements, documentation, and procedures related to Sustainability.
  • Passionate about sustainability in the fashion industry.
  • Able to prioritize workload, demonstrating good organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data verification.
  • Strong sense of creativity and can transpose information into clear visualization and pitch, including in PowerPoint.
  • Available to work in Amsterdam full-time (40hrs per week) for a period of 6 months starting in June 2025.
