You are the key player that will strengthen international customer relationships while leveraging analytical insights to support and improve Athlon’s position, in close collaboration with the local commercial teams. It is within reach with this full-time job as international account manager in Almere (Hybrid). We are Sales within Athlon. Getting you there.

Your road to success

Left or right, you are the linking pin between the country commercial teams and the international customers. You act as a key team member and report to the VP International Sales of Athlon International. You also work closely together with other functional disciplines, with the other local and international sales and account manager(s), as well as with divisional and business unit commercial leaders and other relevant stakeholders. You can do this as an international account manager with full focus on:

  • building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with international customers, ensuring their needs are translated into tailored commercial proposals in close collaboration with local Athlon teams and partners.
  • analyzing market and customer data to identify opportunities and translate these into structured action plans, balancing commercial potential with internal alignment.
  • planning and coordinating international commercial initiatives with a clear, organized approach, working closely with cross-functional teams across different countries.
  • maintaining active, trust-based communication with existing customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and continuously strengthening the partnership. effectively navigating internal organizational dynamics, aligning diverse stakeholder interests to drive common goals and create sustainable value.
  • contributing to the development of Athlon’s international commercial strategy by integrating client insights, market trends, and internal considerations into a clear strategic direction.

An International account manager is the spider in the web between the actual customer and relevant stakeholders like all 10 Athlon countries, our Partners, but also the credit department, finance and legal. What do you take with you as international sales manager for 38 hours per week? Absolutely your outstanding communication and presentation skills, excellent project management skills and you are an authentic and value-driven bridge builder. You also have the drive to deliver best in class business performance and are passionate about the business of the customers as well as our own (eager to deliver win-win). In addition, you have:

  • bachelor work- and thinking level.
  • a background in Sales, preferably in leasing.
  • high level negotiation skills and familiar with complex purchasing processes of internationally operating companies.
  • understands and applies strategic and consultative selling.
  • solid understanding of business drivers and excellent business development skills.
  • spoken and written fluency of English is key. Any other language knowledge is a strong plus.
  • knowledge of recent trends and evolutions in mobility solutions would be a plus.

In addition to building an (international) career, as an international sales manager, based on 38 hours per week, you can count on a:

  • gross yearly salary up to € 92.124,- (including holiday allowance and 13th month).
  • employee budget of € 350,- gross per month. This is used, for example, mobility Policy, commuting km’s expenses, extra leave hours or monthly payment.
  • (electric) lease car including an electric/fuel card.
  • excellent pension scheme.
  • potential bonus up to 10% of your annual salary including holiday allowance and 13th month (the bonus is 100% based on Mercedes-Benz company results).
  • thirteenth month.
  • holiday allowance of 8% and at least 26 vacation days.
  • 12-month contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
  • an extended working from home package.
  • laptop and mobile phone.
  • vitality plan.
