As an Organizational Design Consultant, you will play a crucial role in maturing our Organizational Design capability and delivering on Organizational Design projects.

You and your job

As an Organizational Design (OD) and Transformation Consultant, your mission is to enhance the effectiveness and future-readiness of our workforce by driving Rabobank’s Organizational Design roadmap and coordinating OD projects. You will collaborate cross-functionally with our HR Business, S@S (Agile), Control, and Strategy teams to optimize our workforce structure.

With your experience, you will contribute to building our OD capabilities while delivering immediate value to the business. This includes maturing our OD products and processes, as well as identifying organizational inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Your ability to translate data insights into concrete Organizational Design and workforce planning actions enables you to make a direct impact on both the team and the bank.

You will work closely with the central Transformation Office and the Strategic Workforce Management Centre of Excellence (CoE). This CoE supports our business lines and the broader Rabobank Group in building a future-ready organization by offering services in areas such as Strategic Workforce Planning and Organizational Design. It provides insights, methodologies, and drives projects to optimize our workforce in terms of capacity (FTE), capability (skills), composition (mix), cost (EUR), and configuration (structure).

You will operate at both strategic and tactical levels, ensuring that our Organizational Design services are robust, forward-thinking, and aligned with our organizational goals.

Practical Examples

  • Continuously align our Organizational Design standards across teams with prevailing market practices.
  • Conduct organizational health assessments using data to identify inefficiencies, duplication, or role misalignment, and discuss findings with (HR) management.
  • Support business units in identifying opportunities for improvement by clarifying organizational layers, spans of control, and reporting lines to better align with evolving strategies.
  • Support business transformations related to strategic pivots by assessing the people impact of various scenarios, discussing pros and cons, and recommending a path forward.
  • Translate Organizational Design principles and KPIs into detailed organizational blueprints and corresponding formation structures.

  • Taking Organizational Design capability to the next stage: Drive development of maintenance of OD methods and tools to standardize and scale, aligning with strategy, stakeholders, and market standards.
  • Drive organization-wide structural assessments: Analyse existing structures, job architecture, and reporting layers to identify improvement areas and design more efficient configurations.
  • Partner on end-to-end Organizational Design projects: Collaborate across HR, business units, and support functions to reshape teams or functions based on strategic needs and workforce data.
  • Translate strategy into structural blueprints: Turn business objectives and workforce analytics into actionable Organizational Designs, aligning people, processes, and capabilities.
  • Advise and Influence senior leadership: Present data-backed Organizational Design recommendations and transformation roadmaps to senior stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Drive alignment between Organizational Design, Budgeting, and Strategic Workforce Planning.
