Design Quality Engineer - Products & Systems at Philips

Job Description

In this role, you will set Quality and Reliability targets for IGT Systems medical products, ensuring they deliver high quality and reliability to improve patient lives. Beyond defining these targets, you will leverage your expertise in Quality and Reliability engineering to coach and support project teams, guiding them toward successful implementation. As a trusted advisor, you will provide strategic oversight and guidance on quality and reliability engineering matters.

Your role:

  • Develop comprehensive Quality plans encompassing all stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Quality Plan design.
  • Validate key design inputs like useability, reliability, performance, supportability, manufacturability, localizability, safety, security, privacy serviceability, sustainability, and costs.
  • Provide effective oversight of Quality Plan execution, risk management activities, and all design-related processes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead quality related problem-solving initiatives related to product quality and reliability, proactively addressing challenges and driving improvements.
  • Utilize post-market data for analytics and statistics to report on the product’s performance, providing feedback to manufacturing, suppliers, and design teams, while initiating field actions when necessary.
  • Serve as the key contact for project teams, ensuring that all product design quality requirements are clearly defined and met at each project milestone.
  • Make significant contributions to the integration of reliability engineering principles within medical device development activities.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality engineering, design quality or reliability engineering. Prior experience in R&D is an added advantage
  • Proven experience working within highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong expertise in risk management and FMEA activities (preferred).
  • DfSS Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong team player and coaching skills.
