Software Test Engineer (Applications) bij Lely

At Lely, we work every day on innovative robotic solutions for the dairy industry. Our mission is to automate agricultural processes so that farmers can focus on what they do best: caring for their cows. To support this mission, reliable and high-quality software is essential. That’s why we are looking for a Test Automation Engineer with a passion for quality and an eye for detail to strengthen our Digital Platform.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites. You will identify test scenarios suitable for automation and work closely with developers to improve the testability of the system. You thoroughly analyze test results and share your findings with the team to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, you will perform manual exploratory testing to uncover edge cases. You will actively contribute to enhancing our testing processes and infrastructure.

What are your key responsibilities?

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scenarios for the Digital platform.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve testability and software quality.
  • Perform manual (exploratory) testing, particularly focusing on edge cases.
  • Report and analyze test results, providing well-founded advice to the team.
  • Continuously optimize our testing processes and CI/CD pipeline.

You are a dedicated testing professional with experience in both test automation and manual testing. You enjoy technical challenges and know how to improve testing processes within an Agile/Scrum working environment.

In addition, you bring the following qualifications:

  • Higher professional or academic level (HBO/WO) with a background in software or engineering.
  • Experience with test tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, XUnit, and Testcontainers.
  • Programming skills in, for example, Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, version control (Git), API testing (Postman, REST Assured), and SQL.
  • Experience with testing methodologies such as risk-based testing and ISTQB.

  • Space and freedom to innovate, bring in new ideas, and undertake initiatives. We not only offer this, but we also genuinely expect it. It's up to you to come up with ideas and implement them.
  • A team with enthusiastic, helpful colleagues, collaborating with product development, procurement, and other stakeholders.

  • A healthy work-life balance with a hybrid policy where you are minimum 3 days on Campus. This is flexible and can be arranged in consultation with your manager. Prefer more time on our modern Campus? You are always welcome (between 06:00 a.m. and 08:00 p.m.).
  • Moreover, we love to celebrate. Whether it's an anniversary or our Christmas party, at Lely, we know how to celebrate!
