Senior Site Reliability Engineer bij Lely

Lely is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with strong expertise in software engineering and a deep understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure and GitOps.

Our newly formed SRE team sits within the Developer Experience competence center, together with platform engineering & tooling, technology engineering and product security. A strong department with a broad and high expertise level, facilitating and supporting our product development teams worldwide.

You cooperate with colleagues globally, from software developers to product developers, from application specialists to data engineers, working with latest technologies and innovations.

Your profile

As a Senior SRE you have an important and leading role in the development and implementation of our SRE/DevOps strategy. You enjoy implementing and working with modern Site Reliability Engineering, GitOps and CICD principles, technologies and methodologies. By prioritizing continuous improvement and operations, you practice comprehensive DevOps. You proactively identify and implement enhancements in the software development and delivery process. By regularly reviewing processes, tools, and systems, you aim to boost efficiency, effectiveness, and software quality.

Your approach involves monitoring, analyzing root causes, experimenting, and providing feedback loops and coaching to your colleagues. In close collaboration with the team and stakeholders you deliver high-quality solutions and knowledge that improve reliability, scalability, observability and performance. Eliminating toil through automation and leveraging managed solutions to optimize the operation of our infrastructure and products.

As a senior you are proactive in suggesting improvements, ideas, knowledge, and offering help. You and your team educate, mentor, enable and hold accountable the development teams to improve the reliability of their product. Next to that you actively coach team members and developers on best practices in reliability engineering, sharing your expert knowledge in automation, observability and performance optimization.

Wat is jouw ervaring?

  • 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps role;
  • Extensive SRE and software development experience, with a strong background in DevOps practices;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple programming languages (.Net, Python, Bash, C#, React, GoLang);
  • Proficient in Azure cloud platforms and tooling (e.g., Terraform/OpenTofu, ArgoCD, GitLab);
  • Experienced in using and extending observability tooling like Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry and system/application performance monitoring;
  • Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine operational tasks;
  • Deep understanding in infrastructure and software development security best practices;
  • You have affinity to evangelize technologies, coach and influence others to improve;
  • You are flexible and willing to perform on-call duties in a rotation scheme;
  • Excellent working experience in English, both verbal and in writing. Dutch is a plus.

The position is full-time (36-40 hours per week) and the primary work location is the head office in Maassluis for 60% of the time, where we are flexible on working hours.
