Research Student - Climate & Economics

Join our team as a Research Student

Want to get started on Economics and Climate research to show your expertise while getting to know the leading strategy consulting firm Strategy&? Then grab this opportunity! Over a 3-to-6-month period, you will work on writing thought leadership and supporting our consultants under the supervision of the Climate & Economics team within Strategy&.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking research on some of the most pressing, societally relevant topics such as industrial decarbonisation, circular economy or net zero
• Performing analyses to drive thought leadership generation through a fact-driven exercise
• Work side-by-side with practical strategists who are leaders in Strategy&'s Climate & Economics practice to get insights firsthand and accelerate your learning path
• Be in an engaging environment seeing, working, and building relationships within the Strategy& Amsterdam office
• Provide support to the Climate & Economics team across different projects and updating our project mapping in SharePoint

Furthermore, we ask for

• An academic degree in economics or a related field such as econometrics or public policy (at least a Bachelor)
• Fluency in English (fluent in Dutch is a plus)
• High performance grades during your Bachelors and High school
• Proof of extracurricular activities next to your studies

The impact that the Climate & Economics makes

Strategy&'s Climate & Economics practice work on some of the most interesting and relevant societal issues, applying economic theory to reach answers on topics such as carbon taxes, electrification and regulation. We advise governments, private sector clients and public bodies on policies to drive the Dutch energy transition and broader decarbonisation agenda. Past projects include analyzing regulatory failures slowing the Netherlands electrification ambitions, assessing the effects of a Dutch carbon tax and advising a large insurance company on how to reach its decarbonisation targets.
