As BI Solutions Lead, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of BI developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
YOUR TASKS
What you'll do:
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing BI Team: Provide guidance, coaching, and support to BI developers, fostering their professional development and ensuring they have the resources to excel. This includes managing workloads, conducting performance reviews, and promoting a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Orchestrate BI Solution Delivery: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of complex BI solutions, including data models, reports, dashboards, and visualizations. Ensure solutions are aligned with business needs, data governance standards, and our overall data architecture.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Prioritization: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders across various departments (Marketing, E-commerce, Retail Operations, etc.) to understand their data needs, translate them into clear requirements, and manage expectations effectively. Facilitate prioritization discussions to ensure the team is focused on the most impactful projects.
- Project Management and Agile Execution: Manage project scope, timelines, and resources using agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). Track progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality BI solutions. Champion the use of Jira for efficient ticket management and sprint planning.
- Investigate and Resolve Data Issues: Possess the technical acumen to investigate data discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes. Collaborate with data engineers and other technical teams to implement effective solutions.
- Contribute to Data Governance and Self-Service Enablement: Support the implementation of data governance policies and procedures. Help to create a self-service BI environment by developing clear documentation, providing training, and empowering business users to access and analyze data independently.
- Stay Abreast of Industry Trends and Emerging Technologies: Proactively research and evaluate new BI tools, technologies, and methodologies, including Generative AI, to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Who you are:
- Proven Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of BI developers, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Strong BI Technical Skills: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, SAC). Experience with BigQuery is a significant plus.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional Organizational and Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve data-related issues.
- Data Governance Awareness: Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Strategic Alignment: Eager to contribute to the overall data strategy of the organization and align BI initiatives with business goals.
- Positive and Collaborative Attitude: A team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with others to achieve common goals.
