Your role in the story:

As a Junior Accountant you are responsible for supporting the Accounting and Compliance team to produce timely financial figures for more than 30 Dutch and international entities. In addition to making the daily accounting entries for the bank transactions you will issue internal and external invoices and also support the preparation of mandatory domestic and foreign audits. You are a team player and will join in internal discussions and work with us to improve our processes whilst also contributing to a pleasant working environment.

What you will be working on (but not limited to):

• Processing bank transactions from more than 30 entities and carrying out corresponding reconciliations;
• Timely clearing of transfer accounts (cash & banks);
• Creation of internal and external invoices;
• Reconciliation of related party accounts;
• Checking of bank account changes vendors;
• Account maintenance;
• Expense report processing;
• Non-routine transactions (Ad-Hoc activities).

You are committed and are a good learner. This position requires someone who is proactive, pragmatic, flexible, resourceful, and determined. A result-oriented team player with great interpersonal and communication skills and not afraid to step out of your comfort zone in order to achieve!

Your future colleagues:

In the Accounting and Compliance department you will be closely working with Robert, Kirstie and Petra. In your role there is also interaction with colleagues from the wider Finance & Control department and other departments within the company (e.g. Taxation and Human Resources). As Heerema operates internationally you will be in touch with colleagues in our foreign offices (e.g. Houston and Mexico). Together we create a diverse, vibrant and supportive atmosphere.

What we also ask from you:

• A minimum of 3 years of work experience in Finance and Accounting (bookkeeping);
• A feel for numbers, analytical skills, a pro-active mind set, accuracy, desire to complete activities, a clear opinion;
• Experience with ERP software (e.g. SAP) and MS Office (e.g. Excel);
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in Dutch and English both written and spoken;
• Experience with group company accounting (invoicing) would be beneficial.
