Interim Finance Manager - Head of Finance

We are offering an unique interim assignment for an experienced finance professional to cover the Finance Manager role during maternity leave. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior hands-on finance all-rounder who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys both building new structures and taking ownership of day-to-day finance leadership.

Start date: ~July 1st 2025
Period: 6 month + possible extension

About the role

You’ll be the CFO’s trusted advisor, providing sharp financial insights that steer our strategic decisions. Your expertise will shine as you monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategic objectives, keeping our stakeholders in the loop with our impressive progress. You will be responsible for consolidated financial reporting, including assisting in the process of insourcing our local (US) finance team.

Your expertise in financial reporting, (financial & cost) control and forecasting will be crucial. As we build our pioneering SAF plant in Delfzijl, you'll oversee project controlling, assessing risks, and ensuring our goals are met on time and within budget. At the forefront of our technological advancements, you will contribute to the implementation of a cutting-edge ERP system, laying the foundation for a top-tier financial administration for the future.

Your collaborative spirit will be crucial as you partner with colleagues at our headquarters and become a key business ally for the Delfzijl plant project and factory management. Your strategic thinking and business acumen will be instrumental in driving our success and achieving our ambitious goals, making you a vital player in our journey towards innovation and growth.

Your responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations & reporting and lead the finance team while acting as key contact for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations and internal policies
• Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and business partnering
• Lead the annual budgeting process
• Work with the cost controller to develop a cost control function for Europe’s first dedicated Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant, the DSL-01 project, including supporting of financial reporting to project lenders
• Further professionalizing of the finance function, ensuring the finance processes are future-proof with the growth of our organization

Your profile

As a growing company in a rapidly developing industry, we are looking for someone who likes to play an active (interim) role in building out our business and is not afraid of change. Ideally, you recognise yourself in the following:

• You are analytical, communicative, a team player, proactive and fun
• You have at least WO level, for example Accounting and/ or Controlling
• You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience
• You can draft financial reports and have excellent knowledge of Excel
• Knowledge and experience with Power BI and an ERP is an advantage
• You have excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
• You know Dutch GAAP or IFRS
