Damen Services provides a broad portfolio of services for the entire life cycle of a ship built by Damen. This includes the handling of warranty calls, delivery of vessels, training crew members, delivery of spare parts, providing maintenance, and execute modifications & repairs.

Damen Services' mission is to support the sales organization of Damen in selling vessels by providing additional value in the form of services. After the sale of a ship, excellent services are delivered in order to increase the likelihood that a customer will choose Damen again to buy a ship for replacement or expansion.

At the operational level, the Services department maintains contact with clients and is the eyes and ears of the sales organization. Damen Services is a dynamic organization due to its global character. The role

As a Financial Controller for Damen Services, you will be the vital link between our independent Global Services Hubs and the local head office in a dynamic, growing, and international organization.

You will collaborate with your colleagues of the Finance & Control team, and the Financial Shared Service Center (FSSC), as well as Damen Group expertise centers such as Treasury, Tax, and Group Control. Additionally, you will work with our GCRS partner to manage global compliance and reporting.

Your role will be crucial in realizing all internal and external financial reporting, cashflow planning, and various financial analyses. You will also play a key role in improvement programs related to SAP (ERP) and working capital improvement.

Damen Services has an open and informal culture with short communication lines. You will work directly with the Financial Director and other Management Team members, providing you with the opportunity to contribute to strategic topics and develop your skills at a strategic level.

Key accountabilities

• Lead a team of 2 FTE professionals, and support them in their professional growth;
• Ensure correct and timely internal, external and consolidated reporting for the Damen Services division in accordance with Dutch and local GAAP, in close cooperation with FSSC;
• Coordinate the execution of external audits by ensuring a smooth audit process;
• Responsible for the cashflow planning and contribute to the working capital improvement program;
• Manage the GCRS account, our global partner supporting us on global compliance and reporting;
• Identity and drive improvement initiatives in the respective accounting and process areas;
• Playing a key role in the continuous improvement of tooling, such as SAP, OneStream and Kyriba;
• Working closely together with the Finance Director of Damen Services in reviewing, updating, and documenting the organization’s financial policies and procedures;

Skills & experience

• Bachelor/Master degree in Business Economics, Accounting or Finance;
• 7-10 years of relevant experience (accounting, reporting etc.);
• Driven, ambitious and engage with an eagerness to learn and develop on a personal and professional level;
• Accurate and well-structured. Hands-on attitude;
• Flexible team player, able to work in a small team within a dynamic work environment;
• Strong affinity with automation and digitization of reporting processes and (PowerBI) analytics; along with knowledge and experience with SAP (or familiar ERP);
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
