Do you want to be involved in the digital transformation of our life insurance? Together with a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with the entire chain on further digitization of our entire customer journey. Fostering our high customer satisfaction scores is central to this. For our team, we are looking for a talented Front End Developer with a proven track record in the Vue.js framework.

What you are going to do

You will join an Empowered Product Team that provides all applications to help our customers and advisors from A to Z with their life insurance (ORV). Our portals will be used to facilitate the application process for new insurances. Also, our customers can fully self-manage their existing life insurances. By making good use of these portals, we aim to improve the experience for our customers and simultaneously standardize our processes. We use technologies and tools such as Vue.js, Typescript, OutSystems, and more.

As a Vue developer, you bring the expertise to collaborate closely with the other developers, analysts and testers in the team to develop these new applications. The portals will require many integrations not only with the insurance administration in OutSystems but also with the central systems and components within NN. For this, you have a lot to do with other DevOps teams in NN.

Besides your development tasks, you are responsible for the quality and future-proofing of what you build. You are also closely involved in preparing the user stories, technically thinking through the best way to implement them, and helping the analysts in the team with your technical insight. You are a sparring partner for the Product Owner and together with the team, you take responsibility for achieving the sprint goals. Furthermore, you monitor the application architecture and code quality.

Who you are

A critical eye, which allows you to immediately see where things can be improved. You know how to articulate improvement proposals constructively and like to take initiative. Your passion for technology and delivering high-quality solutions is evident in everything you do. You know how to work in an Agile environment and thanks to your social and communication skills, you effectively engage with both the business and the architect. Additionally, your positive attitude brings energy to the team and you can motivate your colleagues in a coaching manner. Preferably, you are proficient in both Dutch and English. The working language in this team is Dutch.

Furthermore, you bring:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a front-end developer position
• Proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks, including at least VueJS
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and analytically to identify and implement effective solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work and delivering value to our customers
• A mindset of continuous learning with a passion for exploring new technologies and tools to improve our platform and processes

Who you will work with

In our development team, you work directly with a product owner, another Vue developer, multiple OutSystems developers, a business analyst, and a tester. Additionally, you work closely in the chain with the business representatives of our life insurance. We are a close-knit team with diverse backgrounds, where we continuously improve our processes together. We regularly organize retrospectives and feedback sessions to keep each other sharp, but also celebrate our successes. Every 4 weeks we have a fixed office day in Amsterdam on Thursday, for the rest it is possible to work from home. Many of our colleagues enjoy coming to our office.
