You and your future
During the Early Career Program at Rabobank you work on your career by combining working in an IT department with training focused on soft- and hard skill development. For four days a week you will work as a Junior DevOps Engineer in the Area Engineering Platforms. Next to this one day a week your focus will be on your own learning and development. Through both soft skill and technical trainings presented by professionals your start at Rabobank will be a success! After the 18 month program our goal is to continue working with you at Rabobank.

You will be joining a dynamic team of enthusiastic DevOps DBAs who are working together in a SCRUM team, called a squad, where we design and build the on-premise Enterprise SQL Server solutions. We deliver Database Engine, Analysis Services, Integration Services, PowerBI Reporting Services and more globally via an automation portal to our internal Rabobank consumers.

Our squad is positioned within the Engineering Platform area, which in its turn is situated under the Tech4Engineering tribe. We work in one of Rabobank's most complex and challenging IT environments. We provide and support our IT services from our own datacentres in the Netherlands (Best and Boxtel) and are working together with the Rabobank locations around the globe to align our IT services. We are literally at the centre of attention both inside and outside the bank. Together with the rest of the tribe we ensure that our software engineers can do their job for our Rabobank customers with as little cognitive load as possible.

In short/Examples

Your operational tasks:

• Database Maintenance: Manage logins and user permissions. Perform routine maintenance tasks like index rebuilding and statistics updates.
• Execute Scripts: Run predefined scripts for maintenance and data manipulation.
• Copy Environment: Clone databases and logins from production to non-production environments for testing.

DevOps tasks:

• Coding/Scripting Tasks: Write and maintain scripts for automation and deployment.
• Identify Automation Possibilities: Find opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and processes.
• Troubleshooting/Debugging: Debug and resolve issues in development and testing environment.

Your development as a young professional
Within this program, you will have the opportunity to get to know yourself, the field, and Rabobank. The program lasts a total of 18 months. You will start the program in a junior position within one team, participate in workshops and training modules with other juniors, and quickly gain practical experience.

Together with others, there is room for creativity and initiative to organize events, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. This way, we continuously improve the program and ourselves! You will easily build a large and valuable network within the bank.

Your development as a starter

In the Rabobank Early Career Program IT, you will work on your personal development for 18 months. This includes personal leadership, relevant skills, and various themes such as sustainability, as well as learning how a bank operates. In addition to personal development, you will choose one of the IT tracks that suits you. In these tracks, you will focus more on the content of your role.

You will meet fellow starters from different departments weekly, and on other days you will work within your own team. Through business challenges and assignments, you will get to know a large part of the bank.

You and your talent

• You have experience and/or affinity in the following techniques: MS SQL Server suite of products, Always on Availability Groups, Performance Tuning, MS Windows Server, Powershell, Visual Studio Code in combination with GIT and using DevOps Pipelines.
• Fluently in English, to work with all your international colleagues, in the Netherlands and abroad
• Your personal focus is on continuous development, both on soft- and hard skills
• Expressing yourself and being positively critical in asking questions is a must in this team
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
