About the role:

The SCS Manager will oversee the cargo risk management function, providing line management, leadership, and strategic direction for the function, and liaising closely with other relevant stakeholders. The role will help build and maintain the investigative framework for a risk-management program within the supply chain organization.

The SCS Manager is a key member working with both internal and external teams and will be instrumental in driving global investigations along with subject matter experts (SMEs) from other relevant functions to effect continual improvements and solution building in the areas of loss/theft prevention, misappropriation of assets, threats, etc., within the company based on risk and vulnerability across the network.

The impact you’ll make:

  • Identify, develop, and implement the SCS management program, including design, process, framework, and other relevant elements required to meet the unique needs of cargo safety. Drive consensus for acceptable levels of risk and best practices across the supply chain, and influence where no formal reporting structures exist.
  • Hold global responsibility for coordinating investigations in close consultation with SMEs from appropriate departments (as applicable) throughout the company, while identifying security risks with the purpose of reducing or eliminating financial loss, damage, injury, death, or otherwise, and preventing reoccurrence.
  • Conduct risk assessments of sites involved in goods flow—warehouses, factories, finished goods suppliers, logistics carriers, etc.—to ensure cargo safety and brand reliability. Conduct interviews with employees, stakeholders, and all related witnesses to determine facts and obtain statements regarding internal and external incidents.
  • Coordinate investigations, analyze, and compile a wide variety of information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence in support of SCM operations and investigations.
  • Maintain appropriate records reflecting an adequate chain of custody.
  • Provide executive briefings and presentations to senior management relative to investigation results and recommended corrective actions.
  • Enhance, track, and report on risk metrics, which are key performance indicators, allowing performance improvements so that the desired outcomes are achieved according to plan and in a timely manner.
  • Provide support and inputs to key internal and external stakeholders in implementing the team’s risk framework.
  • Maintain the incident report management database, including cargo claims. Partner with business partners to help build actionable intelligence and financial closures.
  • Prepare and thoroughly document factual and impartial findings in a timely and professional manner, utilizing rules of judicial evidence and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

  • Master’s degree in supply chain or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of related experience in the field of transportation and warehousing, including 3+ years of security experience, involving a mix of law enforcement, privacy, military, intelligence, and/or corporate experience.
  • Experience in conducting and managing investigations.
  • Ability to use case management systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex investigation challenges and customize, implement, and execute innovative processes and solutions.
  • Knowledge of criminal and civil procedure as it relates to evidence, privacy, and interviewing.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis, draw sound inferences, prioritize key factors, act decisively, promptly, and confidently, be flexible in approach, and operate with limited guidance from management.

What we’ll give you in return:
