THE ROLE

As a Mid-level IT Project Manager at Damen Naval, you will ensure timely delivery of in-house IT projects to enhance business solutions and optimize our IT environment. You will collaborate with internal customers to draft and approve specifications, and manage stakeholder engagement to ensure the adoption of new solutions. Your projects will cover IT infrastructure improvements, business applications, and digital collaboration platforms. Effective stakeholder management is crucial as you build collaborative teams from various IT disciplines. Regular work from our headquarters in Vlissingen is required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Manage and deliver IT projects end-to-end, maintaining continuous focus on progress and stakeholder engagement.
• Create clear forecasts based on necessary resources, including budget, timelines, and external resources.
• Define required capabilities over the project timeline and assign (external) project members accordingly.
• Proactively monitor and mitigate risks that threaten project success.
• Identify and manage dependencies with other projects for seamless integration and execution.
• Report key metrics to stakeholders on project status, development, risks, and issues.
• Strive towards improvements in project (portfolio) management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of (junior) project management experience delivering IT projects within business environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to create buy-in and engagement.
• Knowledge and experience with waterfall and/or Agile/Scrum project methodologies.
• Willingness to learn from senior colleagues and business partners.
• Relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably supplemented with project management qualifications.
• Ability to work frequently on-site at our offices in Vlissingen and Schiedam.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
