Buying a house and/or taking out a (new) mortgage is perhaps the most important financial decision in a lifetime. By making the right choices at that moment, a solid foundation is laid under the financial health. That is why, even though the customer journey starts online for almost everyone, consumers opt for advice from an expert.
What does a Central Mortgage Advisor do?
A Mortgage Central Advisor helps customers remotely with the financing of their mortgage wishes. In accordance with the hybrid mode, you work from home and from one of our so-called "Hubs". A Hub is an ING location where advisors from various advisory teams, such as Wealth, Mortgage and Business Banking, give clients remote advice. The Mortgage Advisory Team works from five Hubs: Bunnik, The Hague, Eindhoven, Zwolle and Zaandam. You work in a team together with the colleagues at "your" Hub on the financial health of our customers with best-in-class mortgage advice. You contribute to the joint result of your team.
Appointments with (potential) customers are scheduled in your calendar. At the agreed time you give advice via a video call. You can "make a click remotely" like no other and know how to win the customer for you and for ING in the first few minutes of a video call with your enthusiasm. You speak to exploratory customers and customers who have chosen ING after an orientation meeting with you. You get energy from one day speaking, guiding and advising many different customers at different times in their customer journey. This requires flexibility, a good portion of empathy and a grip on your agenda.
Every conversation is an opportunityYou know how to recharge for every conversation: another opportunity in which you help a customer with your knowledge and skills with tailor-made information and advice. This requires a high speed of action and maximum efficiency from you. In addition to a passion to help the customer realize mortgage wishes, you know how to switch quickly if you draw the conclusion with the customer in an orientation meeting that there are currently insufficient options for this. You do this in a way that this customer is not disappointed but chooses you and ING again at a more promising stage of the customer journey.
You make mortgage wishes a realityIf an orientation meeting leads to an advisory process, you know how to bind the customer to you as an advisor and you know how to proactively guide the customer in the follow-up process. In a consultation you know how to give the customer remote insight and overview into his / her personal financial possibilities, to help make the right choices and to broaden the conversation to, for example, insure risks and themes such as sustainability. That's what you enjoy the most: if you've helped a customer with information in the first phase of the customer journey and they've realized a desire to live with ING thanks to you. That is why you also know how to motivate these customers to recommend you as an advisor and ING as a mortgage lender to their friends and acquaintances.
The team
The Mortgage Advisory Team is part of ING Retail Advice. In addition to the digital and mobile customer experience, we offer remote and face-to-face inspiration and personal advice at the moments that matter most to our customers, such as mobile banking, wealth and living. The Mortgage Advisory Team consists of 250 colleagues who empower clients in an unprecedentedly important (financial) decision. We have colleagues who help customers "remotely" (by telephone or via a so-called "video call") with their first questions. We have advisors who help (potential) clients take out a "new" mortgage and advisors "management" who support clients with advice on 'life events' such as divorce or death. With 'skills' such as giving advice to English-speaking customers, entrepreneurs and new construction projects, you can further develop yourself and help us to serve these customer groups even better.

You get energy from pushing commercial boundaries together and to work with the ideas or initiatives of the team. Based on your knowledge and experience, we create a tailor-made training program. In practice, you first work for a certain period of time at the Digital Living Team. There you will learn the basics of our systems, processes and acceptance policy in order to be able to work as a Mortgage Central Advisor.
