Introduction to the job

As a Business Assurance (BA) Expert specializing in Assurance Oversight and Audit Support, you will be responsible for overseeing and aligning assurance related activities across ASML and supporting in preparation and audit-readiness of ASML for audits by external parties. This position is essential in ensuring that assurance efforts are strategically aligned with business priorities, are executed effectively, are well-coordinated, and lead to actionable insights. You will drive consistency, transparency, and efficiency in the execution of assurance activities and you will shape how ASML engages with external auditors and internal assurance providers.

Role and responsibilities

You will be part of ASML’s Business Assurance team and will help drive consistency, transparency, and efficiency in the planning and execution of assurance activities and optimize how ASML prepares for and supports audits and assurance reviews.

You will:

• Perform and support audit readiness assessments, advising on preparedness and alignment.
• Lead or contribute to assurance mapping initiatives to ensure activities are prioritized and properly resourced.
• Co-lead or support the Assurance Table, aligning stakeholders and identifying opportunities for rationalization and improvement.
• Provide clear and timely advice to business areas on external audit support strategy, preparation, and documentation expectations.
• Align pre-audit work and audit support across functions, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Identify trends, overlaps, or gaps in assurance activities and recommend improvements to the assurance operating model.
• Support the execution of the Business Assurance Plan and contribute to the development of underlying methodologies and tooling.

Education and experience

To succeed in this role, you bring:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in a large, complex organization.
• A background in internal or external auditing is required.
• Deep experience with risk, assurance, and audit coordination
• Ability to manage senior stakeholders, influence across departments, and operate independently.
• Solid understanding of audit cycles, risk frameworks, and cross-functional dependencies.

Skills

In this role, you’ll need to collaborate across departments, synthesize input from multiple assurance stakeholders, and drive process consistency.

Job grade expectations

This role spans from JG8 to JG11, with increasing scope, independence, and leadership as you progress:

• JG8: You contribute to assurance readiness activities under close guidance. You assist in audit support activities, help track open actions, and support coordination efforts around the Assurance Table and related events.
• JG9: You act more independently, coordinating audit readiness activities, working with stakeholders to align support, and helping identify opportunities for rationalization and improvement. You begin managing assurance mapping and engaging with business lines.
• JG10: You lead assurance readiness and support initiatives across multiple sectors. You are responsible for aligning audit support, owning relationships with key internal stakeholders, and guiding improvements to the assurance landscape.
• JG11: You take ownership of the assurance oversight process, lead cross-sector initiatives (e.g., the Assurance Table), and shape the strategy and tooling around audit readiness. You act as a key advisor to leadership and guide others in assurance and risk-related topics.
