As a Daily Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting Eneco's trading activities through cutting-edge analysis and modelling.

What you’ll do

The Forecasting Team within the Short-Term Desk at Eneco Energy Trade is responsible for delivering daily forecasts of energy demand and renewable energy generation to support short-term energy trading. As a Daily Business Analyst in this team, you play a central role as the "spider in the web", ensuring an efficient and effective daily workflow. We have a young, diverse team with a good balance of men and women from various international backgrounds. As a result, our working language is English.

You will serve as the primary contact for portfolio changes, such as new wind or solar assets. Ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and that necessary follow-ups are completed. You will collaborate with traders, commercial teams, external partners, and support teams such as IT and Operations.

Many of our daily operations are highly automated, including periodic data imports/exports and monitoring/alerting scripts. It is crucial that you can quickly understand the source files behind these automated processes to troubleshoot operational failures. Knowledge of programming (especially Python) will be highly beneficial in this role.

Finally, you will be responsible for continuously improving operational processes, taking a broad perspective on our operations and driving change with energy and enthusiasm.

• Strong affinity for automation, data management, and improving operational workflows

• A MSc degree in a technical or quantitative field is preferred but not required
• A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to translate business needs into priorities and action plans
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.

You’ll be responsible for

Tasks:

• Acting as a point of contact and sparring partner within the operations team
• Monitoring and improving automated processes
• Validating and analyzing data (e.g., identifying irregularities and outliers in forecasting model outputs)
• Generating reports and dashboards (e.g., tracking model performance and financial statistics)
