Make your mark for the innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) program at Boskalis and contribute at the forefront of strategically integrating AI into our operations to drive efficiency. Our AI Strategy program is designed to tackle business challenges within strategically defined themes on our assets, Dredging and Offshore vessels and our primary process, our tenders and projects.

To drive this ambition, we are positioning a new AI department on a corporate level. This new team will grow towards a team of 20 at the end of 2025. We are looking for passionate AI Leads, AI Engineers and Business Data Engineers who are eager to contribute to our vision and help us achieve our ambitious goals.

The department will be working on our AI portfolio created by our senior business leaders and validated by our Board of Management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI solutions that fulfil business needs in the area of text analysis and document generation.

We are seeking a forward-thinking individual who is passionate about staying up to date with the latest developments in large language models (LLMs), small language models (SLMs), both closed and open-source models, transformers, and general advancements in AI and next-generation computing. It won’t be necessary to rebuild the wheel but you will instead look for strategic combinations between building and buying solutions, understanding that this balance may fluctuate over time. A mindset geared towards continuous learning and curiosity is essential, as well as the ability to handle feedback and being able to reset your course if needed. Key responsibilities as AI Delivery lead for the text analysis and document generation cell are:

• Lead Gen AI projects from initiation through completion, ensuring the structured and efficient delivery of Gen AI use-cases with the dedicated team.
• Allocate and coordinate resources across various use-cases utilizing agile methodologies to enhance project and product development. E.g. facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
• Participate in team tasks while exemplifying personal leadership and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with product owners, and stakeholders such as business management.
• Provide organization and clarity to team activities, demonstrating consistent progress and effectively communicating updates in stakeholder meetings. Identify and resolve impediments and risks.

Your qualities and experience

You can move ahead as Delivery lead for the text analysis and document generation team if you have:

• Professional or higher educational background or thinking level;
• Minimal 5 years of professional work experience;
• Experience in leading teams and managing cross-functional teams (preferably in AGILE environments), from inception to deployment, with a proven track record of learnings and developing a team to a next level;
• Hands-on experience with GEN AI and frameworks and tools, demonstrating the ability to contribute in debt of understanding while leading;
• Knowledge of maritime or infrastructure industry (preferred) and understanding of operational technology environments.

The following competencies are also important for the role of AI project lead:

• Strong analytical skills with the capability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals;
• Experience in stakeholder management, showcasing the ability to effectively communicate and engage with diverse groups within and outside the organization;
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
