What we’re looking for
We are currently seeking a qualified structural engineer to conduct independent examinations and complex FEA calculations on large and heavy lift lifting appliances, as well as other types of lifting gear. A genuine interest in advanced calculation techniques, coupled with a pragmatic approach to their application, is highly desirable. We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome active participation in this process.
The role will involve appraising lifting appliances, including floating and land-based heavy lift cranes, complex offshore lifting tools, spreader beams, elevators, pipe lay mission equipment (such as A&R structures and pipeline structures handling systems), and traveling work platforms. The design aspects must be evaluated according to the LR Code for Lifting Appliances in a Marine environment and/or other relevant international standards.
The ideal candidates should possess the necessary competence, knowledge, and experience to perform these design appraisals. A strong background in structural engineering is essential, ideally supplemented by expertise in related machinery and control systems. Experience in project management, especially in serving international clients, will be highly valued.
