About the job

Join AkzoNobel in shaping a sustainable future! As an ESG Reporting Expert, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with evolving ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting requirements, including CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and EU Taxonomy. This position offers a unique opportunity to help build a robust, future-proof non-financial reporting setup while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing the ESG reporting roadmap and team goals in collaboration with the Sustainability department.
  • Monitor progress on ESG-related KPIs and lead the implementation of CSRD requirements.
  • Establish partnerships with internal stakeholders (Sustainability, Finance, and others) to drive ESG reporting initiatives.
  • Support the creation of a mature control environment for non-financial reporting, including risk management and control execution.
  • Draft policies and procedures to ensure compliance with non-financial reporting standards.
  • Foster continuous improvement in sustainability reporting processes.

What you bring

  • Experience: Approximately 5 years in project management roles in finance or sustainability. Knowledge of ESG topics and financial reporting is a plus.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent, with a strong interest in sustainability.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management and working on large-scale, company-wide projects.
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders across various organizational levels.
  • Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Competencies:

  • Analytical mindset, a drive for continuous improvement, and a collaborative approach.
