About The Role

In our Business Transformation practice, we support companies in times of large transformations. We determine the direction of the company at critical moments, such as mergers and integrations, due diligence and large-scale transformations with an experienced team of professionals.

We help C-level executives identify new business opportunities, redefine existing and new business models, revise go-to-market value propositions, design an operational turn-around plan, and develop and implement new organizational models.

What You’ll Do

The successful candidate will lead project teams, working with global clients on the execution of various engagements, assist with ongoing business development activity and support developing the practice further as part of our growth plan.

As such, key activities related to aviation include:

• Market analysis
• Strategy formulation
• Company financial analysis (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow assessments)
• Operational analysis
• Business plan development
• Identification of upside / downside potentials
• Financial/operational modelling
• Risk assessments
• Private equity due diligence reports
• Improvement concept development and implementation support

Which involve:

• Participation in client/internal meetings
• Coaching, motivating and addressing the required steps within the project team
• Forming initial views and opinions on the engagement to debate with either lead Managing Director or Senior Managing Director
• Taking responsibility for managing, producing, and delivering the client a substantial element of the deliverable/project

How You’ll Grow

The role will allow you flexibility to put in place your own framework for success and to work collaboratively with the wider team to support the exciting growth in the FTI Corporate Finance practice with focus on aviation. The role is by its nature, flexible allowing for the expansion of opportunities or responsibilities outside of the areas set out above into other matters that you feel can contribute to the broader remit to enhance our aviation group. There is also significant opportunity to interact with other industry bodies and networks and/or develop thought leadership. Given the focus on aviation expertise, the role will demand that you remain keen to learn and full support will be given to third-party training or coaching required to assist with the role.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications & Experience

• Educated to university degree level (or equivalent), preferably in business or engineering
• 4 - 7 years of demonstrable internal or external consulting experience (including project leadership/management) – Initial sales cycle involvement of advantage
• Ability to demonstrate deliverable results across multiple functions in the following focus areas:
  • Strategy
  • Business plan review/development
  • Performance improvement (including diagnosis)
  • Operations

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent consulting skills, specifically:
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with team members and clients at all levels using a range of styles to suit the audience
  • Strong written communication skills with experience of producing client ready presentations for senior audiences
  • Relationship building skills, with the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships
  • Highly numerate with the ability to absorb a high quantum of information
  • Proven ability to take a hypothesis focused approach to solve problems
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills and confident working with a number of demanding stakeholders, with the ability to handle multiple tasks
• Strong commercial acumen/market awareness
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to motivate teams assuring a good working environment under pressure
• Flexible approach to work, with the desire and capability to work across sectors, project types and regions
• Desire and ability to learn and be enthusiastic around further training
• Computer literate with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent English proficiency and other languages of an advantage
• International cultural awareness (given the global nature of our clients)
