Introduction to the job

Treasury Control at ASML works in close collaboration with the Treasury team to ensure financial risk within ASML is appropriately managed. This includes managing foreign exchange risk and interest rate risk by applying appropriate financial structuring and derivative instruments. In addition, the role is responsible for controlling the global cash management process where cash allocation is optimized whilst meeting funding requirements in the various entities within the AMSL Group. Lastly, Treasury Control is responsible for all related accounting and control to provide the business with insight to the treasury function's performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and perform the required external and internal reporting.

As a treasury controller, you are responsible for the treasury accounting process, which includes hedge accounting and the accounting of cash flows, investments and debt. Outside of the accounting requirements, there is a focus on monitoring the daily treasury activities and ensuring compliance with the ASML treasury policy, as well as local laws and regulations.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role, you will join our Finance Operations department, part of the ASML Global Business Services (ABS) organization, offering transactional services for Finance, HR&O, Sourcing & Procurement, IT, CRE, and Sales. The organization is supported by a centralized Capability Center, Master Data and Reporting Operations.

As treasury controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Treasury Accounting & Reporting: Execute periodic treasury accounting processes for group consolidation and reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory requirements
  • Financial Instrument & Hedge Accounting: Ensure proper accounting for treasury activities, including derivatives, publicly listed bonds, investments, and cash
  • Profit & Loss Analysis: Control, analyze, and review treasury-related P&L reporting lines, such as currency effects and interest
  • Cash Flow & Balance Sheet Management: Analyze and report periodic cash flow results while maintaining and controlling the treasury balance sheet
  • Treasury Policies & Systems: Monitor global execution of treasury policies, manage treasury management systems, and maintain the In-House Cash center.
  • Regulatory Compliance & SOx Controls: Ensure processes are in place to meet local laws and regulation, maintain SOx-compliant processes, and oversee regulatory reporting of treasury activities
  • Operational Treasury Control: Execute daily treasury control tasks, including deal confirmations, daily financial control, exposure monitoring, software administration and front-office team alignment
  • Treasury Projects & Process Improvements: Contribute and at times lead treasury-related projects and proactively enhance efficiency and quality in treasury operations

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in accounting supplemented by relevant treasury education
  • 4-9 years’ experience in an international environment in comparable positions and/or with a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Knowledge and experience with US GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience with treasury accounting and treasury processes
  • Data analytics and an affinity with finance software would be beneficial
  • Experience with SAP and IT2 would be beneficial
