Group Head of Vehicle Fleet Management
Our goal for the coming years is to realize growth within Boels. As Group Head of Vehicle Fleet Management in Sittard for the Boels Group (including labels such as Riwal and Cramo), this is one of your most important tasks to facilitate this growth and support the business accordingly. The objective is to develop the department, in which you will also be involved in developing and implementing a successful department strategy that enables high quality, efficiency, cost savings and process improvements as well as an appropriate scalable operating model for the ~4,000 vehicles (Cars, HCV’s and LCV’s) for own use.

Your core tasks will consist of determination of group policy standards and guidelines regarding vehicle fleet management processes while ensuring the Boels operation stays mobile and is supported to the required service level against the budgeted costs. You will be responsible for the coordination of the Vehicle Fleet Service desk, vehicle specialists as well as the project managers. Furthermore, you are connected with local fleet representatives in each country. You are responsible for the initiation and implementation of continuous improvement programs, moving from purchase to lease, sustainability initiatives as well as projects such as integrations. Stakeholder management in which you have regular contact with internal customers and external suppliers at an international level is an important part of your daily work.

Main activities.

General

• Develop a future vision regarding a fleet strategy and support services with an accompanying operating model (aligned with Boels’ NXT strategy) allowing the department to stay connected to developments and needs within the organization.
• Develop a multimillion Capex investment plan and Opex budget and oversee execution.
• Oversee the implementation of standards and services for all focus areas in all countries, specifically in the integration of acquisitions, in order to cover all supplied services for the whole organization according to the required legislation and standards.
• Provide insights into costs (drawing up and monitoring budgets), managing on TCO, arranging contracts and recording SLAs with leasing companies and other suppliers. In order to check, adjust and optimize these, you create reports with regard to KPIs, costs, supplier management, etc.
• Develop and maintain standards to facilitate the (re-)development of processes, procedures, contracts and agreements (i.e. maintaining a desired service level).
• Deal with escalations management from the internal customers and external bodies.
• Maintain a good relationship with other departments within the Business Unit Fleet and beyond such as HR, Finance & Control, Legal and Operations.

Processes and Process Excellence

• Plan and initiate process improvement projects to constantly improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure continuous improvement of end-to-end process performance through appointed Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on specific vehicle fleet subjects like track & trace, tachograph, zero-emission transport, fuel management and SMR for good use in the Vehicle Fleet department and the organization as a whole.
• Establish metrics to document process performance.
• Provide knowledge and support to process stakeholders within the dedicated business process area.

Department tasks

• Get the department budget approved and manage costs according to the budget throughout the year.
• Develop, use, maintain and report on performance KPI’s that measure and report the effectiveness and efficiency of the department as a whole.
• Lead, manage, develop and coach all employees in the department, direct or indirect.
• Drive performance in the department, using the tools available, tools like - but not limited to - setting objectives and competencies, regular performance meetings including feedback, coaching and development.
• Drive engagement in the department to continuously improve performance.

• A salary that matches your qualities and experience based on a full-time gross monthly between € 5,683 and € 8,119 (depending on experience and based on a Full-time employment) + an attractive bonus scheme;

As our new Group Head of Vehicle Fleet Management in Sittard; what do you bring?

• HBO / WO working & thinking level in financial management, business administration or similar experience;
• At least 5 years of relevant and recent experience leading a similar department or similar function preferably in an international environment;
• Competencies such as; analytical, proactive, leadership, financial expert and contract management;
• Fluent command of Dutch and English is required, German is a plus;
