Packaging Specialist

For over a hundred years, we have been creating, making, and selling the most fun and delicious candy under the family name Perfetti Van Melle. Of course, we can't do this alone, so we do it together with 18,000 colleagues worldwide! Together, we ensure that you can enjoy Mentos (Gum), Fruittella, Klene, Look-O-Look, Chupa Chups, Smint, and Frisk every day. For our location in Breda, where we make our famous Mentos, we are looking for a Packaging Specialist.

About the role

The packaging specialist is responsible for leading the packaging development process mainly for Co-packing activities for Europe. This includes investigating technical options of the packaging suppliers matching the co-packing manufacturers capability. The solutions will include internal guidelines, legal compliances and ensure that the customer's requirements are taken into account.

The position is focused on ensuring that the packaging proposal from the packaging supplier can be implemented efficiently at co-packing partners according to their capability. When needed you should contribute in developing the solution which will enable the whole process to be as efficient as possible with the lowest costs and still meeting the marketing requirement.

In this role you will report to the Packing Development Manager Benelux as part of the Process and Technology Team.

What we are looking for:

• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Food Packaging Technology;
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in technological packaging development, preferably in FMCG and/or the food industry;
• Affinity in project management
• Ability to manage multiple projects with different/cross functional stakeholders
• Drive for results
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English;
• Affinity with marketing, manufacturing and supply chain;
• Personal skills: hands on, creative, flexible, innovative, enthusiastic, entrepreneur, commercial feeling and relationship-builder;
